@@DavidFoundCo lmao. Nice try bud. You mean when he was hurt? He never once lost a fight after that. That was in like 2006-2007 when he was like 24 years old not even in his prime yet. Kid you know nothing at all about fighting and you just proved it. He completely dominated every big name there was, and then he came out of retirement, moved up a weight class, and took THAT belt too his first fight ever in that class. Stop talking. Jon Jones has beaten complete no names his entire career. He WAITED until Shogun’s knee AND back were shot and literally wasn’t even Mauricio “Shogun” Rua anymore before he decided to fight him and get the title in the first place. If he fought the Shogun pre-knee injury that put Machida to sleep he would’ve gotten TKO’d just like everybody else. Prime Shogun was the best stand up banger, the best striker, to ever step foot in the pride ring or the octagon either one. Jones waited til he was a hurt, washed up 30 year old to even fight him. St. Pierre would’ve dogwalked Anderson Silva had they fought, and he knew it, which it why he would never fight St. Pierre at either division or a catch weight either one. St. Pierre is the most dominant fighter to step foot in the octagon kid. Sit down.

@@rodhipps6378 A normal person would lose their career in any instance. He is also a public figure, needs to be held to a higher standard, and the irony that you're accusing him of holding Jones to an unrealistic standard, but the only reason you're defending him is because of how good he is at the sport is hypocrisy. Learn to separate the individual from the sport. Saddest thing here is he continuously does these bad decisions and because he isn't held accountable (by people like you, even if it makes no difference) which is why he doesn't learn from his mistakes. He is superbly successful, he doesn't have to worry about money and if it's the fighting that stresses him out he has the privilege (that he earned) to quit whenever. Fact is, he is a sh!tty person and people have the right to judge him as such. To hold the opinion of 'you're not perfect, so why are you judging others' is peak stupidity. I respect him, as a fighter, but detest him as a person. Everyone fights their demons, the sheer amount of discipline he has in the sport pales to his lack of control outside. He was still young and inexperienced at the time when he would have fought prime Silva. Jones has had fights that he has struggled in which could have gone either way namely Gustafson. Prime Silva didn't struggle against anyone. No matter what their skill set. Nobody beats Prime Silva. Even so their weight classes aren't even the same. Silva is the world's greatest middleweight not light heavyweight. Jon Jones's biggest advantage which would have been wrestling would have put him in danger to Silva's BJJ. Silva destroyed numerous great wrestlers, even world-class wrestlers. Silva had equal or better striking as well. Nobody could strike with him. No one. The biggest difference between the two is that silver also had incredibly dangerous BJJ which John does not have.

@dpo2078 Жыл бұрын
I'd completely forgotten so many fights and fighters from the early days when UFC was only on Spike and was considered too brutal for ESPN and mainstream. Was great to remember I that I watched Jon Jones throughout his early career, and am happy to be reminded of how epic early UFC was before it became widely known and accepted.
@savedgesurvive Жыл бұрын
That was more the start of "modern" UFC for sure. But not early by any stretch. UFC had been around almost 15 years by time Jones came in.
@dpo2078 Жыл бұрын
@@savedgesurvive I was speaking to both eras/decades; as i recall it, by the time Jones came in the sport, the outrage from taking heads about the brutality of the sport had subsided and it had established more legitimacy. Yes, you are correct, of course. Though, saying the time when UFC first came to American cable television was "early" ufc isn't even accurate, considering the history that led to it being brought to cable in the first place!

@@The_Great_Beyond That's a given. It's the reason there is almost never a good fighter in the heavyweight division. Why learn MMA when you can just finish the fight with a single punch?
