So happy to see Thomas finally fly the pancake. Been watching his builds for years now. Talented young man.

What an incredibly fine aircraft! I hope someone builds some full scale replicas of the plane. (not that I could afford one, but... one can dream, eh?).

Nice work Thomas! Between the Horten Ho-IX, the F-14 and now this, you have shown an ability to tackle rarely modeled, complex and cool subjects! Thanks Merlyn for posting the video.

The prototype was designed in the hopes of operating off of capital ships decks, so the VSTOL is no surprise.

I guess, that's the prototype with the rigid gear. Isn't it? It's flying very nice and stable!

I like the almost-UFO-like sounds that the electric motors make.

There needs to be a full scale model built, perhaps as an ultralight bush plane, using cloth wings like the original V-173

so where is the actual CG located? In the process of Making a foamy with this design. Haven't been able to get the CG right yet. How far forward does it have to be, I know mine has been too far aft.

Gotta be nervewracking to put in all that work and not be sure what will happen... How'd the gear hold up? Scale props and spinners next?

That's just evidence of the war era Germans having a sense of humour. They named the largest, heaviest super tank - Maus.

The Sack AS_6 probably didn't have landing gear that allowed enough nose-up for take-off. See instead the 1930s Arup S-2 ("flying heel-lift" on youtube) which was the predecessor to this Vought plane, and the 1930s Nemeth "parachute plane".
