Vowels in Arabic: Class #4. Long vowels.

A handy way to remember the meaning of long vowels in Arabic is to think of them as vowels that sound like your its name. Long vowels are nothing more than the same short vowels but longer in pronunciation time. The prolongation is marked with the help of the following letters (ا و ي) (alif, waw and yaa). That is why it is called long, since the pronunciation of it is extended in time, so its sound is longer. There are 3 long vowels in Arabic which we are going to break down one by one through examples.

En el árabe, las vocales son fundamentales para la pronunciación y el significado, pero su forma de representación es a través de /Alharakat/ اَلْحَرَكَاتُ, que son las marcas diacríticas.
