When you said who is missing it when they had to split the party and we had some great guest stars also the rest of the cast were watching in the other room.

Felicia Day's the one who put them on Geek and Sundry to have a show in the first place. She did voice a character in the show, and she's also Kinga Forrester in the recent seasons of Mystery Science Theater 3000.

The woman guest next to Sam is Felicia Day; co-founder of Geek & Sundry. At a party Ashley was talking with her about their home campaign & since Geek & Sundry was trying all sorts of ideas for content, she asked the group if they would be okay with streaming their game once a week on the channel. They decided "why not", changed from Pathfinder to 5e, and went from doing a session once every 6 weeks or so, to once a week. So they had to figure out the different game mechanics, get used to meeting more often, get used to the technical issues that plagued the early stream days (sound issues galore) and get used to a lot of people actually watching and liking their show. Please usually advise new views to skip a lot of the 1st arc of C1, but that arc is when you get to see the actors get continually surprised by the show's success. Now, it's nowhere near their success today (they had a huge bump in viewers when they started C2 as people didn't feel like they had 100s of hrs of content to watch to catch up) but the outpouring of support constantly surprised the cast. There was also a lot more fan engagement back then; before they had to reel it back in because parasocial relationships are real weird. The other lady guest on that episode is Mary Elizabeth McGlynn. This was a pre-Briarwood mini-arc where Matt did a clever gimmick to get more guests on the show (this was when Wil Wheaton & Will Friedle also guested) where he created two mini "one-shots" within the C1 canon. Each mini "one-shot" was pre-set as 2 sessions (2 weeks). It was really when the show started FEEL like its current version (to me). Now, the LoVM writers/producers might use some of that plot in season 2 or 3 of the animated show, so I'm not sure it's safe for you to watch it. One of the songs you couldn't place was Fiddler On the Roof's "Tradition" song.

Also worth mentioning that Mary Elizabeth McGlynn is the voice director for The Legend of Vox Machina. She's an amazing performer too.

I love that Mary & Will Friedel make several repeat appearances.

Another funny video is "The Wil Wheaton Dice Curse" from Brianna Zumbro. The video is 29:17 long and has a natural stopping point at 17:06 if you wanted to split the video into two. I just watched it again to make sure there are no spoilers.

The subscriber count you’re seeing is for _paid_ subscriptions to the Geek & Sundry _Twitch_ channel. So, while it started out small and they weren’t exactly covering their expenses (considering Critical Role was just _one_ of the shows Geek & Sundry were doing), it doesn’t really reflect how many people were _following_ the channel or watching the VODs on KZbin.

hope you watch the rest and make a part 2 for his songs, cause they only get better.

Starting at 12:07 it's covering a brief arc where they had a bunch of guests characters. The arty was split in half and each half was paired up with 2 guests to hunt a monster. The two guests you saw were Felicia Day and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn. The other half were with Will Friedel and Will Wheaton. Will Friedel and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn in particular were fan favourites and came back at several points as guest characters throughout they campaign. A little time after that, you also saw Kitbus as a guest. She was the artist who did all the official art for Campaign 1

The song you thought was "Pressure" at 15:23 is actually "Tradition" from Fiddler on the Roof.

This was super fun! More people should react to this one and try to get all the songs. :)

Sam has said if he heard something on the radio that day driving to one of his many directing projects, he would use it as the basis of one of his songs- which is probably why he rarely repeated songs. Their "Hamilton" phase was particularly entertaining (Travis is a huge LMM fan.) He's also used limericks (I have that limerick book!) as well as Shakespearean insults for inspiration and Cutting Words. The thing is he used to act on Broadway when he was younger, did acapella music in school & was briefly in a boy band. Dude is musical.

Sam never repeats a song (so far as I know). He's very aware of what unique thing he does in each episode. You probably didn't notice, but he doesn't repeat a shirt he's wearing either, not until Campaign 2.

close, I think he's repeated the base song once or twice, but that's pretty freaking good for literally years of improvised songs.

And in C2 that was actually his constant bit that he wore the exact same outfit of the corresponding episode number (bar some exceptions, e.g. Halloween)
