@@SilverScribe85 That is Ashton (Talison's character). He was like, injured or something, nearly died, in his backstory. Not he has this glass in his head that glows and sparks when he does weird powers/ magic stuff.

The animated intros and DND Beyond ads were animated by Kami and Kevin Areopagita. They were animating stuff from C2 as a fan, and Travis contacted them for making the animated opening. When Sam made the jingle for DND Beyond, they collaborated to make the animated ad as a way to test the waters for interest in an animated series. Essentially, they were part of the history of paving the path to LoVM.

I still remember the joy on their faces from seeing the DND Beyond ad. 🥹 Hearing Laura go "we're an 80s cartoon, guys!" will always stick out to me. They grew up on this stuff, and now they are the cartoons. Not just as actors playing someone else's characters. Their characters are now on that same level for so many. And to think that they all believed no one would ever want to watch them play DND with their friends.

In the new Bell's Hells animated intro they put in so many little details like that shift from Laudna puppeting Paté to Delilah puppeting a Laudna doll. Not only was Bertrand there but also the Lumas twins and Lord Esheteross to show Imogen's dreams

Honestly, I missed the flash of Delilah puppeting Laudna the first time I saw the new intro (because it's such a "blink and you'll miss it moment) and only noticed when watching the cast reaction. (And then I took entirely too long trying to pause on that frame to see it properly)

So, there were a bunch of running changes to the M9 animated opening, usually involving the NPCs pictured in Matt's book, though the shot of the rainstorm blowing away Molly's coat happened at a certain point in the campaign.

For the Season 3, 2nd intro, the term you were looking for is "Rotoscoping." It's where they do trace animation over live action film. I thought it was a cool choice for the intro. I do love the new animated intro for Campaign 3 though. It's pretty amazing.

The demon in the Kickstarter animation is from another prestream adventure. Basically, the demon was disguised as Uriel's wife to influence him. Originally, this story was going to be adapted. But, when it became a full series, it made more sense for the blue dragon fight to be adapted.

@@D33dums yep, that's the demon that cut Pike in half, which was later retconned as the reason for the hair going from black to white. Of course, the real world reason was that the first fanarts matched the hair colors of the characters to that of the respective players.

The Mighty Nein animated intro is what led to me becomming a Critter. I'd heard the name of the show in passing a few times, but when that intro came across my feed, I HAD to see what that was about. So glad i did! 😁

That live action campaign 2 opening is 70's. The "Mork and Mindy" rainbow suspenders, the wood wall paneling, the really ugly orange and green everywhere, the disco music. All 70s, which is when D&D got started. They captured the aesthetic of the time perfectly. There are a few little Easter Eggs in the new BH animated intro. At 24:57 and 25:22 you can see Fearne pickpocketing Ashton (in the last one, Orym spots her do it). At 25:06 there's a flash of Delilah puppeting Laudna. At 25:18, you see Ashton, and it's hard to tell if they're a reflection from now, or a memory from back then. And 25:39, you see FCG using their ability to take damage from someone.

Keep an eye out as you catch up with the Mighty Nein campaign, from time to time there at the end, the npcs in Matt's tome will change. So wonderful UK fans get to experience a live show finally! I got to go to the one in Chicago right before the pandemic. It is very emotional rewatching that episode now 🥰

I'm glad for the new opening, the one they were using hurt my eyes that I wasn't always unable to watch it due to the bright lights that flashed quickly Also as someone now playing a Satyr/fawn, it's fun to watch Fearne just move around XD

@LynkCable That first Mighty Nein Intro you reacted wasn't actually a Mighty Nein Intro. That was a D&D Beyond Ad that D&D Beyond and those animators made using the song that Sam wrote for D&D Beyond. You didn't actually watch the first Mighty Nein Animated Intro. The first one was basically the second one (the one you actually watched), but without Cad because Molly was still alive so it had Molly in it and the NPCs shown at the end were different because they updated it when they added Cad to it. Also, there's a THIRD Mighty Nein Animated Intro in which they updated the NPCs at the end to include Lucien after he was introduced into the Campaign. Fun Fact: The Animators who D&D Beyond hired/asked to do the D&D Beyond Ad that you saw are the same Animators who Critical Role hired/asked to do the latest Bells Hells Animated Intro. Matt mentions them at the end of the video when he thanks them for doing it.

Don't think anyone's mentioned it, but in the latest opening for Campaign 3, you can see Fearne pickpocketing Ashton a few times, which they do to each other in-game a lot.

Dunno if anyone's explained the significance of the demon. That was their first character death during their home game. Pike got snapped in half. They didn't have access to resurrection spells yet, so they had to take her to a temple. Apparently they were all really stressed and sobbing. It was a huge moment.

For me the paint by numbers "filter" intro was thier least successful and huge downgrade from thier live action intro with Robby, so glad they made an animated one to replace the paint by numbers one, so much better.

I will say, personally I'm not the biggest fan of Campaign 3's second intro, mainly just due to the rotoscope animation style, but I love the first and third intros for Bell's Hells.

Just saying, you can't not include the openings for ExU and ExU: Calamity. They have some of the best intro music I've ever heard. Edit: The villain with the "shadow warriors" is Otohan Thull, with her Echo Clones. She was the one that killed Laudna, and forced BH to go to Whitestone to seek out Pike's aid to get Laudna back -- hence the "Dark Whitestone" arc that took place in Laudna's mind.

the cast for crit roll are going to be so busy just with there own production, they may have to put the rest of voice acting on the back burner because of Critical roll. They have 2 animated series the legend of vox machina and the mighty nine is also dew to come out, and then continuing seasons for those series, and then the third campaign on top of that, how could they have time for anything ells?

I think the first C3 intro was swapped out because it got some criticism for its use of colonial aesthetics, etc which doesn't look good when it's a bunch of Americans in an oriental type setting
