Thanks for the review. After having kids and all that, I've returned to my guitars after an 18 year break. Used to play my ES 335 through a Fender Reverb in a hard rock outfit, which I loved, but I'm now more interested in getting a more bluesy sound, with a tiny bit of dirt. During my hiatus from guitars, my Fender amp died, and I'm now interested in the Vox MVX 150 combo, which I reckon will suit me...but...why is it after some 2 years since it was released, you hear nothing about it? Is there anyone out there using this amp???

I’m feeling the same way. I just ordered the head thinking that this would be nice and light compared to my sovtek. I play manly blues/stoner rock so I’m very concerned about the lack of low end people are reviewing. I know this is not a “Tube Amp” but hopefully it’ll have enough beef to cut threw a loud band. Gonna use this head with a Marshall 4x12, so hopefully that’ll help.

@@shitforshat8601 I just picked up the MVX150C1 combo. It's crazy loud for a 1x12 and the low end is not an issue. It has a "fat" control for both channels if you need extra bass and low mid oomph.

the smaller pocket nutube vox amps took the news, and then VOX came out with that cambridge and everyone moved to that . . . for 150 W range and the price of this amp, people would rather take the money and spend it (and go few hundred past) and tend to go the heavy hitter brands with regular tube amps, esp metal guys wouldn't look to vox for their amperage . . . plus there's that boss nextone. That said I am looking for SS or nutube amp so far its the cambridge or nextone . . . to use when my twin tubes are being fussy . . . . like that time fender twin and champ both blew tubes and needed replacements .. .I had to wait a few weeks for the mailer . . . I live in an island in the middle of nowhere like ibiza but with less party so I'm looking not stuck with acoustic . . .

Have you compared this to an actual AC30? How do you think this amp compares to the Egnater Tweaker?

Forget the Bias on the back. Vintage and Modern Mode. For Channel 1 and separate for channel 2.😉

i own the combo and find that if you turn it all the way 100% to the vintage side it's unusable and muddy/wobbly do you find the same on yours?

@4ohms.... so 75w @ 8ohms...etc? I like how new amps don't come with a foot switch...that's really nice, because then they can charge a lot more for the FS...yay! yeah, I'll just stick with good old dual channel amps for now.

Hey man ! Love all of your content especially the video quality and recording truly makes this bad boy shine SO I really need your help dude! Specifically for the "Ibanez AZ 224F " you demoed this one beautifully and although it passed the test (- yes it sounded as good as it looked for sure ) BUT I have to know for the money how does it really compare to prestige or other Ibanez model for the features does this one kill it ? This is probably the hardest comparison to make so to speak cause unlike say sterling jp vs ebmm jp6 these have very very few differences the SOUND and FEEL appear to be equal because the roasting is only a smidge different and the hyperion pickup pairing is virtually the same ! (IM after the HSS models specifically but also considering your model). Is there really a huge sound difference or difference in whammy bar stability between the premium and prestige ? after all the premium is still gotoh steel does but does your whammy bar hold up with abuse? LASTLY can this HH AZ model mimic strat - neck pickup tones minus the annoying 60 cycle hum even tho there are 24 frets? Im at that cross road because I want this model but its the one time I dont want to pay for the top shelf prestige AZ cause to me blind test with a premium like yours and I probably would not be able to spot or really feel a difference! Ive only been able to play the AZ 224F very briefly one came through my local store but there was no prestige model to shoot it out against so here I am wondering what your verdict is on this premium not so budget friendly axe. Hope to hear from you soon and im sure a bunch of others too who are struggling between choosing one haha thanks cheers!

You should have seen gear review videos back in like 2007-2010. Everyone just played stock blues licks and the viewers kept asking for more metal playing.

Because metal is for kids and kids buy toys. Shredding is boring after the second song.
