The horror creatures were okayish-creepy but the jumpscare upon a non escapebal death was very unsettling. Ether way I now can't stop thinking about them like the Wheatley crab meme. Anyway nice vid.

I love those little icons you make for the deaths, and the test chamber thumbnail lol. I consider all of them as canon to the Portal 2 multiverse. I'm gonna name the giant green monster Mr. Larry Jenkins, and the small monster Ms. Smiley, and they're both going to roam the depths of aperture searching for fresh blood from now on. Cave here, chariots chariots chariots. If you see a colossally sized green, oozing monster in this next test chamber, that's normal. He's been hanging out in this testing track since... *flips pages* uhh. It looks like he was in the salt mines before we built this facility. So who knows when he got here. Anyways, DO NOT let him touch you. My boys in R&D looked away for one second and before they knew it they were goo.

I don't know why exactly but all the signage feels like such an important part of the Aperture vibe to me, as you can tell i'm a fan of it lol and my custom icons are a big part of the channel now which i good because i really like making them, it would be cool to see some of them become common sights in community maps :) That was such a perfectly authentically written sounding Cave Johnson recording lol! Like i can honestly read that and hear it in his voice, we need to get a hold of as many pictures of spiderman as we can, and convince J.K Simmons to do lines for community maps :) As always, thanks dude!

When I first played this map i thought it was just a pixels themed level. Then i got into that dark room, and asked myself if it was an horror map. Then.... i saw the figure And i got the urge to active all cheats including mat-fullbright and show_triggers to see what was going on there

The reason why it was so sudden was because this map was initially made for a collaborative mapping project where each person had to make a few rooms and then submit them to all be mashed together into one big map. I tried to cram this whole idea into it until I realized, "damn this isn't going to work" and instead saved it to a new file and continued working from what I had made before as a separate project. Also, the collaborative mapping project is not yet complete, and my segment of that is essentially just the start of Voxel but without the forest.

Portal 2 but in minecraft. Not going to lie you'd have to redo every asset to get this effect, imagine what it would be like if it was voxel crossed over unvaped aperture, that would look awesome but you wouln't do it cause you'd have to do about ALMOST every asset that is included in unvaped aperture. Or you can re-create it in minecraft just that the portal gun can pick up everything. I am very convinced that terrified by icecream knows how to do add textures. I swear this is the first time someone has done this with. Big shoutout to terrified by icecream and ngeruma! even tho i dont have anyone subscribed to me, but who cares? I dont care about my subscribers I just want to watch. 1:52 the portals are screaming at you its not minecraft. It'd be better if the portals are pixelated but the portals are models and i think you cant edit models. so there's that. Its a horror mod, i dont like it and also THANK FUCK we are back at aperture, i will NOT play that chamber. first horror chamber? Tbh you can make anything scary with pixel art.

The amount of custom texture work terrified of ice cream created and added for this map is mind blowing, not to mention the amount of custom work on all the monstrosities hidden behind the innocent and cutesy looking starting chambers lol. that eye thing too! lol 1:52 Yeah as far as i know you can only change the colours for the portals as they are such an integral part of the game. I totally was not expecting this to turn into a horror mod either lol Thanks for still watching these videos and commenting too dude, much appreciated!

What specific gripes did you have with the "viewmodel"?

@@conni-bun It's too vertically squished and feels a bit inconsistent with the rest of the pixel art style you have. Another note would be that it doesn't have the hand bob when moving the camera around. Also, was it not possible to make the portals pixel art? I'm a little less familiar with Hammer's limitations.

@@SuperGamersgames The portals are procedurally generated in code, which I can't access, let alone for one workshop map. In Portal 1 it might have been possible, but I don't know how to do that anyway. View bob was also not possible because the portalgun is just a texture overlay applied to the screen after hiding the actual portalgun. I can't argue with the art style inconsistency though.

a little odd yeah, but i imagine it would of been pretty hard to make work, the funny thing is this map actually just hides your portal gun and the pixel gun is part of the on screen crosshair, cool to see how terrified of ice cream made that work :)

Do you mean, to play workshop maps? If so, no. Any good Portal 2 workshop map should have all custom content packed into the map so you don't have to download anything externally. The only exception is maps using reallllyyyy old BEEMOD versions, before they started packing assets, but I doubt you'll be playing those anyway. (Unlike GMod, creators for the Portal 2 workshop are allowed to ship assets from other Source games in their maps.)

Hammer world editor, you can place brushes which are essentially just shapes and he chose blocks. Then made his own textures to it

i hate to tell you this dude, but you may have gotten the "Voxel" curse, it's extremely rare but sadly there is no known cure, i'm afraid to say but soon you'll be seeing everything around you in an Aperture styled minecraft-esque voxel haze.
