Lyrics:
Born to be better
To be better
To be better
To be better
To be better than us
Does it matter
Does it matter
Does it matter
Does it matter that it’s all in the dust?
Down to the letter
And so I’m sorry to say
Think I’d better
Think I’d better take it out on the day
The voices come
The voices go
The voices know
Am I the prince of fire on the night patrol?
(Are we better?) The voice has come
(Voices settle) The voice has gone
(Into battle) Am I still the prince of fire on my own?
Sworn to kill now when we were all as one
Lay your sword down and we were all but done
Lay your sword down in my arms again (again)
Is it better, is it better, is it better again?
The voices come
Is it better, is it better, is it better?
The voices come…

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. You see, we all have sinned, and have broken God’s law (The Ten Commandments). Wrong doing deserves justice and must be punished (just like how a criminal has to pay for the crime they have committed) but God saved us from the eternal punishment of our sins by sending His Son Jesus Christ, fullness of God in flesh, to pay the penalty for us by dying on the cross and resurrecting, so that we may have everlasting life. Now for you to accept the free gift of grace, you must repent of your sins and put your faith in Jesus Christ and Bible says that His Blood will cover all of your sins, you will be forgiven, saved from eternal punishment, and be given everlasting life. By faith you will receive the Holy Spirit, become born again and He will transform your heart and clean you from the inside out. Turn away from sin, read the Bible, pray for the Holy Spirit to fill you and change you, obey the Word. Much love and God bless.

Not robbed. Many things have to come together for a ESC win, and this time the stars did not align to Voyager. Top 10 is a solid performance and there is nothing to be ashamed of. Even our Käärijä was not robbed of anything. We knew perfectly well, that he is not a singer, but an entertainer and a rap artist. It was a tall order to ask him to win Loreen in a competition with a jury on your singing ability. He really managed to capture the audience and it gave him full 12 points from 18 countries, which is a feat on its own rigth. But unfortunately this had to also be the year when Loreen decided to compete again. Voyager made a such an impression winning their semi-final and giving a solid performance in the final, that they will get much new audience for their music.

For a song with a 7-string djent breakdown it's already kind of a miracle that they even ended in the top 10. Definitely the winner though for me even though I'm a LOTL fan (I just think Blood and Glitter was a weaker song by their standards).

They had to play it safe for Eurovision since it's primarily a pop music contest. The rest of their catalogue, especially the last 2 albums and these new singles, are way more musically interesting than Promise, but even with that song, Voyager wins Eurovision based on musical ingenuity alone.

I spent most of my free time in 1998-99 in my little office studio in Brisbane trying to combine trance synth loops with heavy metal guitar and wondering why the hell no one else was doing it. Little did I know that on the other side of the continent this band was being formed and would take the sound I was looking for far further than my meager talents could ever manage. Great song!

Loving you for years. Was missing the sound of old songs like The Devil in Me, Lost, The Meaning of I - but this new one touches me again!

Wow! Just when we think it's all pop with Eurovision, you come out with this. It's dark, it's mysterious, and yes there are moments of throbbing wall to wall sound that are an assault on the senses, but there's also light amongst the shade. Also really happy to see the keytar in the video rather than as part of mysterious backing track (yes, I know this is just you pretending to play to a studio recording, but it just looks better in a performance setup with that keyboard in the hands!).
