9:00 I believe this was a gift by the Egyptian state for helping to rescue archaeological finds and sites in the part of the Nile valley that would soon be flooded after the construction of the Aswan dam. My town also attained an Egyptian temple for the same reason.

Upon seeing the statue at 16:31 I was struck that Amun's face is that of Tutankhamun (for comparison, see statue of Tutankhamun as Amun at Karnak Temple).
