I grew up with a dad like his: cold, mean, bitter about having a family. Hated his wife and kids. Walked on eggshells around him. But I've never understood ppl who hurt people. I turned my hurt inwards. Harmed and would have ended myself before I lay a hand on another person. Rest in peace to all the victims.

Thank you. I absolutely love this channel! I binged almost every cold case / serial killer / true crime video on here. Almost out of content, I went to watch a few videos on another channel but A&E is my favorite because it's this fast paced, so quick-to-the-point, easy to follow, most of the times very chronological and with real interviews. And not with cliffhangers like it's this TV show that keeps dragging on and keeps repeating the same facts. Thank you, editors, uploaders, videographers, subtitle writers, interviewers, interviewees, investigators, researchers, backoffice people, audio guys/girls/x's.... Maybe I missed some but I'm thankful for everyone who worked on this channel.

A middle aged man, his daughter and her nephew all living together and no action taken for some weeks as they lay dead in the house. You would think these people would have been missed much sooner. The killer dispatched a another 5 young people prior to that or perhaps some after? I think our society fosters this type of antisocial behaviour because these individuals can operate secretly and independently.

Millions of people have bad childhoods, but they are not serial killers. These killers like to blame everything on their childhoods instead of taking responsibility.

This is how they get to understand a serial killer. They get into their minds to see what makes them the way they are. A lot of it is psychological based and the way they are raised.

Because It gives us some understanding of how an individual like this thinks, if they didn't interview people like this it would be even more terrifying because we would know absolutely nothing about how they operate and who those poleople are.

Rough childhood is not an excuse to turn into a monster. I had a very tough one growing up and my parents' divorce only made it worse. I am now married with children of my own and I am determined to give my children the kind of pleasant childhood I didnt get. I'm not saying that it was easy but God helped me. Turning into a pervert and a monster is the choice he made and I sincerely hope the families of his victims were able to find some closure at least.

It was not a choice. Psychopaths didn't choose to be who they are and they're incapable of changing. That's their nature. They have no conscience, no empathy, no compassion, and can't understand the suffering they inflict. They have no capacity to be moral, or make moral choices, or become more moral. They're human beings, but without the essence of what makes us human None of this away a psychpath's responsibility for their crimes and we have to treat them like any criminal. But it's a mistake to think that they could have done any differently.

The Louisiana state police contacted Gainesville authorities stating the similarities in both cases ie sexually motivated, posing, carnage. Someone from Mississippi stated Rolling was drunk one night and told them that his favorite thing was to “cut little girls up! He wanted to go to another town and live out his dreams” they then left an anonymous tip on the ripper hotline. They found Rolling was locked up for robbing a bank in Ocala, FL. He robbed the bank the day after he dispatched his last 2 victims. He was arrested and subsequently confessed to the crimes through a “mediator” from his cell block.
