@@scottkeppler9151 Certainly a lot of truth to that statement. I did however, also own a Vulcan (was an old 750 though), and I only kept it one season. I've had my Road King just about longer than I've owned any other bike now, and I also have a second Harley. They're technically inferior, but the scene that goes with the brand is unique.

Twin Cams really do sound good. I have several pieces on metal of different lengths that I use to put in the baffle, the metal has a threaded hole in the middle so i can put my slide hammer in it after I insert it. It makes repacking baffles a lot easier.

It sounds great. I put those same pipes on my Softail last year, but replaced those baffles with some quiet baffles a few weeks after. I tried to take them back out and put the original baffles back in, those things are in there from being hot and cold, I’m not sure if they’ll ever come out. The quiet baffles from V&H were so tight, there’ no way I could have installed them without putting them on a grinder and taking some of the diameter down. It’d be nice if baffle were made with a small tab or something that’s bent toward the inside you can stick a tool in there to remove them easier.

You should add what the racers from the 1970s did and make the lollipop inserts, a bolt with the top cut in the middle and weld a washer into the groove that is slightly smaller than the pipes, you install a nut onto it then insert it into the pipe through a hole you drill then add a nut and washer to the outside to hold it, this allows for adjustable backpressure and sound while still sounding like a harley from before the evolution days. And when on a dyno for tuning, you can adjust them for the desired performance. Im new to this channel, or I would have sent this to you when it was first posted. I did this to my evo custom chopper, and it's amazing. There is no need for baffling when this is done. I set my SPCN (Special construction) my bike is 2 of a few choppers I had built. I set up the top of the washer at a 20 degrees of the top of the washer towards the engine. Make shure the hole in the washer size is at least 3/4 inch opening so exhaust can get through, even if the washer has to be modified. And have at least 1/8 inch around the outside of the washer for movement and flow.

Been there, done that...like so many others. Sounds real nice in the beginning, especially when you let off on the throttle.The Noise is going to get old real quick. You loose bottom end also with straight throughs-especially with those pipes they're not even cross over chambered (connected) to help with torque. If you wanted it louder you could've even cut the baffles in half and put them back. Just my opinion. Good Luck with your bike and if you enjoy it, all that matters.

I took off the baffles on my stock HD pipes and got over it in a day. It was fun the first day though. My gas mileage went to shit (it’s fuel injected) and since I drilled them out there was no going back. I personally like the Low, sewing machine from the stock pipes. I’m probably just getting old. But I went out and bought a set of Cobra 909s and FP3 and we’re rockin and rolling again with a way better sound I think.

Kudos for Not giving your 2 yr old nightmares.... lol. I was thinking about the baffles you and Tanya pulled out.... as part of the mod.... what about cutting off a third, and then make the rest of the existing vents a bit bigger. ???

I know you're getting a lot of love here but the before sound byte you had, I believe, harnesses the sound of a Harley than straight piping it. I know I am probably in the minority with that thought but everyone has their preferences. Not sure if the loss of power due to no back pressure is a "The juice is worth the squeeze" set up.

You're right, there was a problem with the audio when recording... we will redeem ourselves and show everyone the new sound soon! No loss of power, I will be installing torque cones and the bike is tuned.

I just found your channel. I'm in my mid-70's and recently acquired a 2011 FLHTK. What kind of a lift table would you recommend? Money is a little tight, and I don't own a compressor.

Why have to reattach the baffles after cuttting to a different length. Is it something to do with back pressure
@VPCustoms
@VPCustoms 3 ай бұрын
In short yes. Anytime you change something with your exhaust or air cleaner you should have it tuned.. we took the baffles out altogether here.

Loud but with no back pressure feedback when you off throttle. It’s a Harley thing, they never have that.

That bike is tuned. I see the heavy breather aircleaner. Does it make a difference in riding becouse you have a differen backpressure in the pipes?
