Suggestion: while we all love your TTs (I have a Scout 2.0) I feel that far greater attention needs to be paid to the manual. It needs to be much more comprehensive and you could perhaps solicit suggestions from owners. One point seldom mentioned, for example, is why there are three grooves on each pulley. For a good 3 years I was getting wildly variable sounds - sometimes sluggish & muddy and sometimes over-bright and distorted. I finally figured out that each groove alters (fine-tunes) the speed and this greatly affects the tone. You need to be very precise which one you place it on when changing from 45 - 33 based on cart, phono stage etc. Point being, it would be nice if this was in the manual; it would make a very fine turntable even more of a pleasure to use.

Hi Johnny, totally agree and we have had something very intuitive and special in the works for our manual in 2018 ;)

Nice small retro 45. My 45's are all 12" in diameter.

Excellent video Ron, very helpful. One other suggestion I have is using those small, tube, bubble levels to adjust azimuth and VTA (not the circular ones), they get you slightly more accurate results.

Thanks Raj! That's a great idea!

Would adding a weight on top of the lp affect the speed of the motor? Or is to designed to handle loads of that magnitude.

Beautiful record player but is the ugly cable a VPI trademark?

So the counterweight setting is already set up with the right weight for the cart? Great video btw.
@Newrecordday201310 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yes, counterweight comes installed with the correct VTF set by VPI.

Nowhere in this video, and nowhere in the manual is there mention of attaching a ground wire properly. Something to be mindful of, you need to do so.

Hi, great video! I just received my Scout Jr today, your video was very helpful to set it up, Im from Argentina, no many vpi product around. Just a question, I started listening the first record, in 45rpm (its a Maxi) and the sound seems to come in waves, the volume goes up and down slightly, do you know which can be the reason? Thanks, Diego

Whats the thinking involved with having no anti skate on these tables. I'm sure there is a solid engineering reason to not have it but can someone explain it in layman's terms?
@bkatbamna3 жыл бұрын
I think anti skating is set by twisting the wire that comes out of the tonearm.
