This is amazing, I'll try to do something similar.

If you could figure out a way to make it so you can could hook up a detachable stripper pole to this thing you could sell it to A LOT of VRChat users 🤣 not even a remotely a joke lol I want to learn poledancing in VRC so bad, but I don’t have a permanent spot for a pole. Some hardware like this that you could put it on and take it off of with 5 minute of effort would be soooo rad. And also being able to, like, use Vr shoes when the pole isn’t up 🤣 that’d be cool too lol Also being able to screw it into the ceiling through drywall without damaging the ceiling would be poggers lol really the only way us renter could use it realistically

Would the rig work if you were to use a support bungee cord instead?

For this setup, where the shoes don't have motors, I don't think it would work very well. If you haven't seen build log #41 I try using some straps to make a support rig, but straps, cords, ropes, allow for a lot of swinging which to me was annoying. For a motorized setup, a cord might be fine. I had basically a rope and bungees for my motorized vr shoes, and sometimes the vr shoes wouldn't keep up and keep me in the center, but that could be improved. I think with completely motorized solutions the motors need to be incredibly responsive, which is tricky, but if that can be worked out then the support rig can be simpler.
