Most impressive is that he can fly and chew gum at the same time. Wow!

Here is my Motion RIG which I use mainly for simracing. But it also works quite well with the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. Especially with VR, the experience is really awesome. The system consists of a combination of SFX100 Platformmover and a Next Level Racing V3 Seatmover. And if anyone wonders why I chew gum, it's because VR and flight simulations are already "high-end" for my stomach and I can counteract this with something.

Can this be bought as a package and simply assembled, I look at the web site and its kind of confusing with all the sponsors, shopping lists etc... only took a quick look but this sounds cool not too bog of a footprint either :) mostly referring to the platform for use in MSFS

I recently retired (Real World) as the last qualified MC-130P Combat Shadow (Instructor) Flight Engineer in the system. I got to retire the very last of the tails to a museum (Castle Air Museum, Atwater, CA - Tail # 66-0212). Retired her in November of 2018 and flew a Staff desk until February of 2020 (good timing, eh?) I say all this to frame my comment here. I instructed in these kickass old birds with dogshit air conditioning packs often blasting us with hot bleed air in the desert summers, or spitting ice chunks at us...both situations requiring me to isolate and secure the systems and kill off the fresh air in the face that REALLY helps new crew dogs not to blow chow on bumpy 300 foot AGL low levels in the mountain canyons at 240 knots, pulling 60 degrees at 2 G's ALL the flippin' time. (Combat Rescue unit often asked with all sorts of Joint SpecOps community taskings). We flew hardcore training lines out of Silicon Valley in Northern California every day. What other units considered an exiting training line or some high speed shit...we just called that a "Wednesday". NIghtlines from pinky time dusk ot till 2300 or midnight also in Sierra Nevada Canyons or Pacific Coastal Range (mostly), often out to Fallon or Nellis in Nevada including the Nevada Test & Training Range (always keeping eyes peeled around "The Box" restricted area, for little green men from Mars named Marvin... no, we didn't get to play at Area 51 either. Not as exciting as it sounds, I hear tell, but GOD HELP YOU if so much as a wingtip enters R-4808N) My homies are still hacking the same OpsTempo today, but no more Flight Engineers, as they got 4 brand new HC-130P Combat Kings that we flew home direct from the "Showroom Floor" in Marietta, Georgia, USA. Rambling on...I guess I miss it. Only been a few years and my 946 Aeronca Champ has slightly less performance on high density altitude days, so I might get the Jones for the 4 Fans of Freedom a bit, from time to time. A little. (just a wee bit) OK. Reason for the comment is this. I did a lot of LEVEL C and LEVEL D sim training at Kirtland AFB recurrently and as one of the only full time instructors, I was at the sim building all the time, it seemed. That is a multi million dollar facility with the smoothest motion and not the best graphics (MSFS blows Flight Safety's expensive toys away in graphics). In over 3,000 hours on the actual iron, very little of that up in the Flight Levels, I didn't barf one time. I came DAMNED close, and in my prior decade of Servie in the Army, last half on Helicopters, I also managed to hold it down. My trick? Peppermint essential oil on my mustache and Wrigley's Doublemint Gum, 3 sticks at a time, chewing JUST like this dude was. Many MANY a student had to fight hard not to get sent to Flight Medicine and have to endure the "Spin Chair" which can actually take away your wings until a certain point in the syllabus. Not a minor thing at the schoolhouse. I had more new cats get queasy in the multimillion dollar, climate controlled sim that didn't smell like greasy BX Food Court pizza mixed with used Copenhagen and rotten chocolate milk in the seat cushion that the Aircraft Commander had been blowing garlic farts into ever since he called for Clearance. (I'm talking about YOU, Colonel "Fred"...American Airlines Dallas Domiciled pilot ... but not gonna name names and all. ;-) Sims ca jack you up. Sims wearing NVGs can REALLY jack you up. Mint gum has saved at least 5 sets of hard fought for and earned Wings that I've been part of the Instructor Cadre for. Your mileage may vary. Now, if the dude is grunting G-Suit sounds and doing a Valsalva nose blow maneuver during a PEnetration Descent...from his Living Room... ...OK. That's a qualified "NERD ALERT!!!" Y'all enjoy the hobby and keep on flying. I strongly encourage any of you reading this to migrate over to take some introductory flights in actual General Aviation planes and bring some friends along. General Aviation and Experimental Aviation needs all the help it can get. We cannot let it wither and die off because of costs driven higher due to lack of interested canddates. It's as much fun as you think it is, and it keeps your mind sharp and challenged a lot more than Fantasy Football or Playstations and X Boxes. I'm 47 and my last console was an Atari 2600...I wasn't a gamer dude in the 80s past Asteroids and Frogger...I was rebuilding antique taildraggers at KLVK Livermore, CA - (I'm still there, My Aeronca is in North Hangar #54) - as a kid and a teen. Different world entirely then...but I wouldn't trade it for anything. Washing P-51 Racer "Merlin's Magic" for 3+ hours to earn about 15 minutes in the pattern in the PT-17 Stearman. Priceless memories. Rock on, y'all. Thanks for listening to the old fart ramble. "Farva"
