"Bill Norrie" is utterly shattering. Martin is the bravest.

Martin Carthy MBE. Surely it's time it became SIr Martin Carthy in recognition for rescuing folk music so many times and preserving so much of it.

I have been saying that for years . It wouldn't surprise me though, if he has been offered one and refused it?. 😎😎😎.

@@billybigdinners7407It would be possible he has. However I would imagine that so far it has not been offered. A very nice man who I have met a few times and completely unaware of his importance to music.

I lived on Windmill Hill. I think I took my mum and dad to see this one. It was so packed that we were almost sitting behind Martin. Mum was amazed.

I saw him here at the hole with Swarb in ‘92 and I’m going to see him tonight at a small church in Somerset, legend in the true sense of the word.

I saw martin many times way back in the early 70s, when i used to frequent festivals. I recall especially at the Late night Extra, sidmouth folk festival, where he played in a packed marquee, without amplification. His guitar was loud, his voice so strong, every word could be heard even at the back.

This is a complete gem! I first saw Martin perform only a year or so before this, and it really tugs at the memory strings! Thank you very much indeed!

Very interesting the shifts in tempo in song towards the end. This is really great. Love it.
