Even as a player with VRC+, I sincerely hope VRC decides to allow non-plus users to create at least one account or, hopefully, raise the cap on VRC+ users to 5, and allow 3 for free. These could be incredibly helpful in general for social groups, like the old Circles feature on Google+ that was the real diamond of that service, and keeping that option from free users feels wrong.

Indeed, I can understand the reasoning for keeping it locked behind VRC+ -for now- but man that'll really suck if it's kept that way. Worse case, maybe it could cost a one time fee of like 5-10 bucks to create a new group, while keeping the three free ones for vrc+

As someone who runs a Mental health therapy group Via VRC, this will be helpful. I would like to be able to send out Notifications to when a Group therapy session is taking place and make it more easy for participants to attend. So Im looking forward to seeing how this works out.

Personally I'm kind of mixed on avatar search. Like to some extent I think it should have some requirements to make an avatar searchable, such as being PC and Quest compatible. But at the very least, it should be an opt-in thing along with some way to give them search tags

This is great, amazing even, but there is one feature that sounds very important to have. For people on green, we should have a toggle that says "I want to be joined by friends only/group members only/both" because if you join a group and don't necessarily want a potential few dozen strangers to join you immediately, for now you can't prevent this

This feature is awesome and will facilitate how we meet new people and create new friend networks (today we use Discord groups to solve that problem). I think if you guys integrates things that users do outside your platform inside it, this will improve more and more the UX of this game. Besides that, pleaseeeee, create a Brazillian server for Brazil and the rest of South America, we are a large scale of players and sometimes don't looks like you guys be care of it.

Based on what I have seen on the VRchat Feedback, I am aware of how the idea of messaging in VRchat has been shot down, however given the introduction of Groups, I really do think there should be a messaging system available only between friends and/or group members. It urks me that I always have to send a full invite/invite request just to ask my friends something. Replies are in the game, why can't normal messages be as well?

Liking what I'm hearing so far, very nice! An update I'd like to see implemented sometime in the near future: When you click on the profile of a user that you have friended, a section gives info on where and when you friended them. Can't tell you how many times someone I friended a while back and forgot about suddenly joins off me in a friends/friends+ instance and it's so awkward because I don't remember where or when I met them lol

@@randomz3007 Agreed. People will find ways around it even if there are word censors. VRchat needs to find a friendly ground for Adults. Adults are going to always be around and they are always going to want Adult spaces. Secondlife fought against it, one of the biggest 3D social games at the time and caved, allowing users to verify their age which would then permit access to Adult content.

Knew about this from previous posts but this is awesome. Just worried about it being locked behind Plus when it comes to creating a group. That I really disagree with, exactly what some of us feared about Plus. If anything it should be that Plus lets you create more than one. So I wont be able to make my group unless it becomes a feature for everyone. I was looking forward to that. At least you mentioned it might change so I hope it does not long after the full release. If not then I’m a bit shocked and disgusted.

Feature Idea for Search and Social: - Next to an Explore Window to find new groups, maybe a filter system like common tags will be helpful to find easier a group in a specific topic. For Example: Music Events, FBT, Streamers, Games etc. So its not needed to find people from a group to explore and join public groups. Like a filter system :) - Also helpful will be in the Social Section a tab for groups where you can find friends that participating or joined the same group as you. Something like on discord where you can see how many of your friends are on a server.

A quick feedback already I'd like to give. With group instances, it would be nice if you'd allow us the option to have it so people have to request to join it. I know this would only be for very few situations but I am part of a group where we'd like to know exactly who joins our events. To that end, also have instance join and kicks/bans be part of the logs. It makes moderation so much easier if we can see that stuff after events.

I can understand wanting to make hosting groups a paid feature (vrc+ to create one). But if that is the route you wish to take, please make sure you don't leave group owners in a predatory situation where they feel they have no choice but to keep paying for vrc+ for the sake of the group, even if they haven't been around as much, or just don't have the money, etc. I would much rather vrchat found a way to monetize this that doesn't involve people being pressured into paying because others rely on it. I suspect this may lead to some conflict and resentment on platform. Paid options should affect the person who is paying, not large groups of other users. Being in a situation where you feel pressured to pay up for a group of other people is not a premium experience.

So maybe uploading images to the gallery could be a VRC+ feature. Since that does require extra web hosting which does cost money, and adds value to the vrc+ offering (Plus moderation costs). Maybe something similar to discord server boosting could work. Since at least then the onus isn't entirely on the server owner to pay up.

Which is the best size for the group-banner ? It turns out that sometimes it will be shown cut off or way too small over the name-tag ... Is there a page describing such details ? What is the actual reason for stages? Because the focus seems to be on the "users" getting used to the system, even though I really don't think it matters. Is it a technical reason? You did mention user feedback and applying it to subsequent releases, but how would that be any different from just releasing the whole feature at once so people can use it right out of the gate?

There are gonna be SOOO many harems All jokes aside, this is a pretty cool feature, albeit, not really suited to my "playstyle" of vrchat, which is meeting people organically in public worlds. However, I enjoy doing this less and less now due to the state of public worlds nowadays. I'll have to test if the group features really are all that. I like the idea! I saw something of the groups before in a video. But just a kind of tease. I'm excited to create and manage my first group! After that I really wish the developers will improve a lot of the download system of avatars and worlds. Especially for people with extremly bad internet. It's very frustrating if a player wants to show you something with his avatar and it has 50-100MB. Someone like me, with my 300 kb/s in download, needs more than 5 min. to just show the avatar. Until that the person already left the area, or changed the avatar again three times. I'm not talking about you speed up these internet connections... abviously! :D It's the thing when multiple people load the avatar, even it's the Fallback one, you probably get a connection loss. Also it would be nice to not only see the percentage of the download, also seeing the size what is downloaded and what needs to be downloaded. That would also be helpful.

Main thing I need is that the group feature lets me pick a small portion of my friend's list so only them can see the event taking place and join without needing to request. Simply put adding friends its mainly a formality, doesn't make you part of the main friend circle, gotta keep problematic folks out.

Why can't I just search for groups by keywords? Why do I need to know their tag? If for example, I'm interested in people that are into knitting, why can't I just find the group by using the keyword 'knitting'? Edit: I guess this will be enabled in Stage 2, am I correct?

Alright, so. Call me skeptical, but I think people who've paid for VRC+ in the past should also be eligible to create groups from the go. I remember the whole time "More features will come soon" that was hung over the subscribe button and whatnot, and being a one year subscriber, we didn't actually see any new major features release save for photo invites (which was released with VRC+ from the go.) I'd have rather have waited and bought in now, if it's going to be pay walled. Good system, but I'm worried about this delivery. I've been waiting for groups for a long time, and feel pretty disappointed that I won't be able to create at least one. (Maybe limit 1 for non-VRC+? I'm down for that. Or, maybe non-VRC+ groups get added to a queue of quality control for acceptance?)

Here some ideas: I don't know if it will be there, but assuming it isn't it would be great to let the player choose which group they represent under their name and whether or not to do so, just like Guild Wars 2 does Add an integration system with Discord so that the chat in the assigned channel is seamless between platforms, so I don't necessarily need to be on VRChat to find out about events, news and messages from the group

My first concern overall is already addressed which is this feature being primarily only available in game. I feel everything should be more available on the website because ultimately a system where someone has to be physically present in game at all times to use to set up social events seems like a bad idea. For example a broad example is the Steam Community - Imagine if you could only manage your Steam Group and Create an event for Team Fortress 2 while in Team Fortress 2. Glad that doesn't seem to be an issue here. Also I would ask - is privacy settings and ui settings going to be present? Personally I wouldn't want my groups displayed for everyone to see that I'm in and would prefer being able to hide them or even categorize them like worlds. I also wouldn't want to go in a world and see UI bloat where everyone's groups are on screen while I'm in VR. Having toggles for both would be nice. I was going to also ask if there would be a way to hide groups but as VRC+ is currently required I'm not too worried about it. Occasionally with worlds spam ones or misrepresentative thumbnails are uploaded and it's annoying having to sift past these when browsing. In the future I was going to ask if there would be a way to hide groups from showing up in search similar to how we manage blocked users.

While I'm not the biggest fan of keeping a new feature that's so game changing behind a partial paywall, I'm still very much for the groups idea! I also really like the idea of the group instances, which will make it way easier for my RP folks and I to just join the world without needing to request to get in. The moderation on this seems pretty neat as well. I do hope that creating groups won't stay for VRChat+ users though... I can somewhat see why it will be like this in stage one, but please don't make it mandatory in the future...

A feature that would be neat is a messaging feature without having to send an invite with a message attached
