the 3s and 3 are identical except for the displays 3,pancake / 3s, Fresnel ,,, the 3s dose not have a depth sensor,, it uses software & cameras the 3s dose not have a headphone jack - use Bluetooth & buds the 128GB is only $299,, bear in mind the operating system might be 20GB +

So my dilemma is... I am not a gamer and I never owned a VR headset before. I already have a Quest 3 and what I saw is that on meta site some configs of quest 3 are better than the Quest3S and Quest3S is only a “Quest 2” upgrade, it don’t have pancake lenses too, so I recommend if you have a Quest 3 don’t buy it.

Yes you have bluetooth and yes there is a inbuilt mic. You can also get an adapter from usb c to jack and use a headset normally

I suggest using it wirelessly with steam vr. If it`s important for you, you can get a really good quality microphone which will catch all sounds in the entire room without distortions for quite cheap (I got rode nt usb mini for 440zł->110$) and just use your wireless earphones which you probably already have for your phone. Works very well for me. Galaxy buds 3 pro and the latency is 0.3s with a dongle I have without even turning gaming mode on. You could even use your buds microphone but at that point just use the built in one since it will give you way better quality than any BT one you find in wireless earphones...

The only reason I did was because my Q2 wasn't working in VRChat any more. If you go to the Amazon Quest Store, you can get a Q3 and make zero interest payments on it for 6 months. That's what I did. I ended up getting the 512g & it made paying for it a lot easier.

Ima be dead honest I think that they pushed out some sort of update to slowly kill the quest 2 because a few weeks before they told everyone the quest 2 is officially discontinued all my friends quest 2 headsets including mine are all doing the same thing, the screen freezes until the battery dies, screen goes black for no reason, passthrough goes in and out and some of my friends headsets just stoped turning on and mine has started to do the same thing

@thomasminh2481 both USB-C to HDMI cable AND steam VR, also if you have windows 11 there`s windows vr thing, great for productivity. If you have WIFI 6 router at home you can play wirelessly WITHOUT LOOSING ANY picture quality. Great wifi6 routers cost around 120$ so it wouldn`t even be a huge investment. You literally put a tp-link router with 6 antenas somewhere in your gaming room, connect it via ethernet to your pc and your wifi modem, configure it(literally 5 minutes) and vuala, you`ve got yourself a losless wireless VR experience;)

Yes, because the quest 3s is cheaper than the quest 2. The quest 2 is $380, and the quest 3s is $300. If you sell the quest 2 for about maybe $50 less due to it being used, and then buy the quest 3s, you’ll still have about $30 left.

I strongly disagree. Don't sell it. The 2 is too decent. It will be fun to game on for at least a decade to come (emulating retro games or playing standard def movies, for example, is arguably a worse experience on the higher res display of the 3). It's a great beater headset, and since you'd be lucky to get more than 150 dollars for selling it, you should keep it to share with friends or watch movies on. Selling your headset will not even cover half the cost of your 3s, so it's probably not worth it. And if you really can't afford to buy a without selling the 2, then you honestly shouldn't even be buying a headset yet, since that's only 3 days of wages even if you work at McDonald's.

All well and good if you can get one that works.. Mine , brand new out of the box was stuck in a boot loop after being fully charged, and wouldn't shut off. Factory reset was of no avail, and even worse was lack of support from Meta.. I wouldn't recommend one, and I would ask meta to bring back human support that you could actually speak with that had troubleshooting skills, instead of menu driven choices that don't address the problem. Just my opinion mind you.

I think Meta Quest 3S is good but i already have a Meta Quest 2 in my hand. Does this mean when it is discontinued then that means no more games being on meta quest 2? You can still play games.but certain games won't support quest 2, meaning games won't allow you to play them, you probably won't be able to call your friends anymore, it won't get updates, meaning it's gonna start lagging alot more.

well even tho its discontinued it will still have support for at least a few years so you can still call your friends on there and new games WILL come out although higher end games like assassins' creed and such wont have support for it. but you still at least have a few years before they drop support for it, sorta like with the meta uest 1, it stopped getting sold ages ago but only recently lost support making it so you cant update it or get new games on it.

Some picture quality and performance improvements(for what? Instagram and web? Less than 5% of ppl buying phones actually commit to playing actually demanding games on them anyway)

Plus when I looked somewhere else I kept finding the ones for 299 but then in description it said they're missing some components that need to be bought extra. the 3s has the same visuals as the quest 3 it just has the old lenses and the sweet spot issue shouldnt be an issue unless your eyes are out of line with the 3 options it has for lens adjustment, but other than that you cant really notice a difference in the displays and the resolution is the same anyway

Can confirm that Quest 2 is slowly beginning to fail. I've owned my headset for almost 4 years and it only recently started suffering bad drift I can't fix, the screen also keeps blinking when I'm attached to PC. My boyfriend actually ordered the 3s for me to get a minor upgrade.

The only issue I have with VR headsets is battery life… 2 hours of life is really low, if you were to get like 4 hours that will be good enough

All you need is to make a meta account on your phone once and the rest of the time everything is in the headset itself. It's a way cheaper option to ps5 plus psvr, in my opinion the 3s is a perfect price point i understand cost has to be cut but still worth every penny. I used mine every day
