One of the few, calm and "adult" works of Time and Glass. And most importantly, this is their only song in Ukrainian. If you keep watching them you will find tons of danceable, energetic music. But it was "Smoke" that was remembered by many viewers as a work where Dorofeeva looked like a serious adult singer, and not a pop idol for teenagers. Why smoke? My interpretation. I think there is an association with dope, smoke, as something that hides the truth, the absence of fire (true love), something ghostly, amorphous. In the song, Dorofeeva sings about a sweet dope, a mirage, which hides her and her lover from each other. Instead of a person, she receives his blurred image - a mirage. I don’t know how in English, but in Ukrainian there is an expression - “melt like smoke”. That is, this is a song about the unfulfilled expectations of a girl who chose someone, but her expectations were not met.
