nice edit on the scrolling BZ RTX20 vid list intro BZ/Steve/Andrew/Patrick/Crew, I didn't realize so many retakes of the same 8 phase (dual feed?) VRM had been done on RTX20 cards, lol. Nvidia must have locked down the Power specs even more than I thought. That or AIB's don't want to invest that much in a GPU chip with profit margins as slim as RTX, lol. Great vid Buildzoid/Steve and crews. B)

At this point it would be nice to have a build proposition either by GN or Buildzoid. And I mean screw the 1000 or whatever dollar builds. Give us an opinion (or recommendation, whatever you can get away with) of a build using the BEST QUALITY component. Just go like: -This MB because VRMs, the GPU over there because Ray Tracing and RGB, that PSU cos it doesn't blow up etc.

Or somehting like a rating system inside of a spreadsheet so you have easy access to it and don't have to search a ton of videos (or articles) but can get a quick overview of which components are garbage and which are really good. Maybe with a short comment (not short in Buildzoids sense but actually short. Like 1 sentence ot something like that). That would be really nice.

I've seen posts saying the FTW3 (at least at the time of posting) has/had the highest power limit of all the 2080ti cards. Based on this, is that just a BIOS thing, and not due to the VRMs or other hardware being better on this card vs other custom PCBs? Or is there more to it? (Or are the posts just wrong or out of date?)
@Mcwrah6 жыл бұрын
Not sure, but I do own a FTW3 and it does have power limit of 373W, usually stays around 350-370W(in most games with my OC and 1440p 144hz screen) i also seen it pull 380W according to px1. Power limit goes to 124%. 300W is the base. Thats all i can say, and from what i heard and seen most cards have power limit of around 300-330W. Might be different now tho.

Who else wanted Buildzoid to just erase the thermal paste on the card? It _can_ be done, too through some layer trickery: With nobody in the room, take a picture with paste. Then clean it, taking another picture with nobody in the room. Then have the TP layer on top and just erase the area -around- within the -paste- silicon.

I wonder why NVidia is requiring such current and thermal overkill on the VRM? Price jokes aside, they aren’t in the habit of adding components for no reason, especially in a reference design. I mean, you could use only one power stage per phase and it would still probably be overkill for ambient cooling. I really wonder what all the extra hardware is doing that NVidia thinks is so important.
