I just updated and auto save got switched to the setting "afterDelay". Nothing was mentioned about this in the bullet point patch notes, and it triggered my hot reloader with every keystroke, which is extremely annoying. I don't know if it was the update that did it, but I can't think of anything else that could have suddenly switched it on. If you're going to make a change like that, that some people would not like, I would appreciate if you add a front and center note about it so we don't have to go looking for the cause of the problem. Or better yet, don't switch it on by default, it's very frustrating. Otherwise VScode has been very pleasant to use, but this one got to me.
