From what I understand and from my own experiences, the creeps is the fear of the unknown. Imagine this: you're in your house alone at night and woke up to have a snack, all of a sudden you hear the door slowly open on its own and you think to yourself: "It's probably just the wind, right?" The thing that makes you scared is the part where you say "right?" Its that there is still a possibility that it ISNT just the wind and that makes you scared, that makes you creeped out.

I would say the perfect example of the uncanny valley is a spazm 2005 doll or the picture from the creepypasta "russian sleep experiment". The picture combine's creepiness with everything in it the eyes, the teeth, the pose, the head, the stare, the black and white filter makes it also very creepy. It's the perfect example of something that has humane form but definetly isn't human, or is it?

Well, yeah, but sometimes people are genuinely scared of not having a friend or family member with them and just being alone, isolated. Now if you mean someone is scared of being the dark, it could be both. They might be scared of monsters coming to get them, but also not having someone there. They say you always feel safer with a friend at night.

You could be scared of being alone in a dark room, isolate and lonely, but you could also be scared of a monster hiding in there.
