Please correct Q.no 3)Ans will be: 3-ethyl-4 methyl hexane Reason:If the two different substituents attached to the carbon chain are located at the same distance from both ends of the carbon chain than the numbering is done from that side in which the substituted group that comes first in the English alphabet is connected. The ethyl comes before the methyl in the English alphabet. Hence the numbering will be according to the ethyl group. Hence the correct IUPAC name is 3-ethyl-4-methylhexane
