#Pakistan Reportedly Begin Receiving #VT4 Tanks from #Norinco
In mid-April 2020, at the Chinese tank factory located in Baotou, Inner Mongolia province, the ceremony of shipping the first batch of VT4 main battle tanks fitted with explosive reactive armour (ERA) to “a foreign customer” obviously believed to be Pakistan as, in 2019, this country had selected the VT4 tank in the framework of the acquisition program of at least 100 new MBTs.
The MBT-3000, also named VT4 for the export version, is a new generation of main battle tank designed and manufactured by NORINCO. According to this company, the MBT-3000 benefits from the latest technology for main battle tanks specially designed to meet the challenge of high-tech warfare. Its overall performance and combat capability put this tank among the most advanced ones in the world.
The MBT-3000 was unveiled for the first time to the public at the International Defense Exhibition Eurosatory in June 2012. At the China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition 2014, NORINCO showed for the first time a real model of its new main battle tank. In August 2012, Norinco received diplomats, military officials and defence contractors from 44 countries for a demonstration of its latest tank in export version. At the defence Exhibition AAD 2014 in Pretoria, Namibia’s deputy Defense minister showed interest in the VT4. In January 2018, the Royal Thai Army conducted tests of the VT4 at the Royal Thai Army Cavalry Center located at Adisorn military camp, in Saraburi; Thailand then purchased 28 VT4s and its cabinet approved the repurchase of 10 additional units; more are expected to follow. In July 2019, Pakistan selected the new Chinese tank, of which at least 100 units should replace older MBTs, as the indigenous Al Khalid II is still under development; the first units were delivered in mid-April 2020.

Sir a question: If YJ 12 is so potent (yes it is) why is it only used in type 51D Destroyers and it is not integrated in any type of other Chinese navy combatants, rather than they use YJ 18 for their newest destroyers (Type 052D & Type 055) and YJ 83 in their frigates (Type 54A)? Sir the brahmos range is 500 km and its being extended to 600, its surface launch variant is more faster than YJ 12, it travels between mach 3 to mach 3.5. As YJ 12 speed is practically mach 2 and it can exceed its speed to mach 3 or above only if it is fired from an altitude of 130,000 ft (claims of China) which is practically impossible, as H6 bombers that carries it can fly upto an altitude of 45000 ft and the only aircraft in the world with highest service celling is SR 71 with an altitude of 85000 ft. Brahmos sea skimming cability is phenomenal and is best in the world, it can fly above sea level with a min altitude of 3-4m which is very low than YJ 12's 15 m. The accuracy of YJ 12 is 5-7m CEP (circular error probable) wherelse accuracy of Brahmos is 1m CEP. The Brahmos launch platform is more versatile as it can be launched from Land, Air, Ship and Submarine. Where else YJ 12 is capable of launching from Air and Ship only. In 2010 Brahmos made a world record of being the first cruise missile in the world to make steap dive in supersonic mode and hit the target. The future variant are going to be even more advance and deadly. Brahmos integration with SU 30 gives it a striking range of 2000 kms. Brahmos is the fastest cruise missile, with lowest sea skimming capability of flying 3-4m above sea, with a accuracy of 1m CEP. SO THE CONCLUSION IS BRAHMOS is the best in class weapon system and their is no comparison against it and it is better than YJ 12. But definitely, definitely yes, YJ 12 is a very fast and deadly missile which doesn't have any platforms against it and its enemy cant be saved if it gets launved against them and it is definitely a nightmare against its enemies. And if we talk about type 54 frigates it is inferior than India's Shivalik class frigates, it lacks in anti ship/anti surface warfare capabilities against Shivalik class frigates, the Barak 8 SAM is better than The HQ 16 and it is equipped with C 803 which is inferior to India's Brahmos, but if it gets integrated with YJ 12 it will be deadlier and will pack similar capabilities. Its 1130 CIWS is better than Shivalik class Ak 630, both of has got similar Sensors so it is a win win situation for both in this genre. Submarine rocket depth charges can be also considered similar.
