This has nothing to do with Vtec you fucking moron . When racing you should be shifting when your engine reaches its maximum HP. Maximum HP is well before the rev limiter. By running up against the limiter you are wasting time and energy. Running on the limiter means the car is no longer accelerating. You my friend are the one who doesnt know what he is talking about. Try watching some drag racing videos with pros at the wheel. See how many times they hit the limiter after launch. If I am wrong (which I am not) explain to me genius the advantage of hitting the limiter every shift.

Kevin Hopper theirs a different between street and drag and I can talk about both but for now I know street, Hondas are built and ran completely different, a Honda has to bang off of the rev limiter in order to catch it's traction and keep up boost maybe power will go down but the boost is still up when your running street radials on concret non prepped road it's hard to catch traction and for a Honda to keep up they have to bang and bang and bang to catch that traction and if they shift to early they bog down and lose power this is mostly used for all-motor but now most of the boosted Hondas started doing it cause it actually works if you see many videos theres many Hondas spinning 1st-3rd while kicking ass (their are a bunch of KZbin compilations) vtec was made so that the Honda would have more power top end while "racing" but be more economic in the bottom end when "cruising" if you get what I mean, I hope I helped

Charles Huot wtf are you talking about lol my car has a turbo d16 not a favorable motor and I push 388hp on 25p.o.b and it's been running for almost 3 years with no problems theirs many drag racing cars who run the same motor for 2 years and no problem for example speed factory and Ramey the 2 quickest Hondas in the world both in different classes, you wanna talk about unreliable we can talk about a 4g63
