Liquid Calcium: Boon or Boondoggle-Chris Teutsch

Liquid Calcium is a Boondoggle. Lime pellets are eight times more expensive than standard crushed Agricultural lime. Pelletized lime would be better for small residential applications. In one year lime can adjust the top four inches of topsoil by .6 to .7 pH. This was an interesting video. The Presenter did a good job of summarizing and repeating the questions at the end that were inaudible. It might be nice to invite questioners up and have a microphone on the floor for them to use next time. Soil pH in the 6 to 7.5 pH is desirable as it better enables plants to absorb Magnesium that is required to make Chloroplasts that make plant sugars. Consider installing Owl nest boxes on your property. Owls eat rodents that host ticks, attract and feed Bobcats, Coyotes and Pit Vipers. Find a High School student in Wood Shop Class to make a Class project for your land. Silvopasture is more productive than mere pasture. Consider planting appropriate trees in your pastures. These young trees will require some fencing and protection for years to protect them from damage. Happy grazing.
