You could also play male Phyre, by the way. VTM is more than 1 character, so no, it's not about Smiling Jack. He's just one of the several characters in the original tabletop RPG and of course, only resides in 1 place at a time so he's not part of all historical events, during the Time of Judgment, 2005, he was important and he was in Los Angeles, so no surprise he was picked to appear in VTMB. VTM is bigger than VTMB By the way, abunchofpaella Paradox no longer considers the Time of Judgment events as canon, only as a timeline you can use for your personal Chronicle. I think now it's only until that part he leaves Los Angeles to move to Madagascar, don't know the 5th Edition well. Now a piece of lore, Jack is said to have created many Caitiffs, so someone could theorize that in VTMB events, he might have Embraced the Caitiff that went berserk, maybe even the chain that lead to those Thin Bloods, who are 14th/15th Gen (5th Edition added the 16th), while Jack is 10th, he can't create Thin Bloods directly, but given he tended to Embrace 11th Gen Caitiffs, it could lead to that way. He was in Los Angeles for 20 years until 2005. Again, VTM is better and bigger than VTMB.
