Clever. Arch is demonstrating why constantly fighting the status quo is so disruptive by refusing to pronounce the clan name the same way twice.

I remember becoming very very fond of the brujahs intresting acceptance of orders in one of my playthoughs. I was a Ventrue "cleaner" basically someone who made sure the clans image was spotless. This left me in a bit of a pickle when the wider camarila (i will butcher all the spelling) found out about a rouge element in the clan before it could be elminated. At one point we where told to make sure no witnesses left a building and I turned to my brujah party member and told her not to do anything too extreame in there as it was full of things of great value to the ventrue. Of course as soon as I left them alone to get the back entrance they took it as a sign to "accidently" burn the place to the ground killing everyone in side and netting me bonus xp as it also took out the evidence that it was my mission to ensure was never found.

Lost an eye fighting a zemi flesh monster after over estimating Fortitude but other then that it went very much my way. The whole campain was about the camirila and anarch state fighting over an american city (cant remember which one was a few years ago now) but they where forced to work together when the sabbat rolled up during a large fight and borderline wiped out both sides. This lead to an uneasy aliance between the anarchs and the camirilla to fight the sabbat. The campain started with the party being assembled as it was found out that a ventrue had been the one to give the sabbat the time and place to do so much damage to both sides. The party was of 4 people who where a ventrue(me), a tremere, gangrel and brujah who each where given bonus quests so that their clan would gain more power. The game ended with the ventrue and tremere kicking out the sabbat and brujah from the city. The brujah did however kick the sabbat out of a diffrent city basically starting up the war again. The gangrel well........ we only had 2 deaths in the whole campain and both times it was the furries...... pretty sure that was cains way of telling everyone that they are best kept as pets and not making the place untidy for their betters.
@le3299ify
@le3299ify 5 жыл бұрын
I also completly forgot about the best bit of gm karma ever in this campain. The lass who played the 3 gangrel's hated her first one and so had the gm kill her off during one of the one to one bits (we had the main story and each player had some 121 side stories for when the whole group couldnt make a session) and with the gm's help made a new badass one. They pretty much put everything into punching people to death, being unkillable and oh just proten for max ur about to die very very quickly. Honestly the gm decided that they where so much of a monster he gave them free intimadate bonus. When we first meet the zemi's adorable and tottally not carnavle of pain rip off we may have kinda told our hactivist brujah to lock said monster gangrel in a room with all the creepy shit to give us time to run away. The gm reward this act by turning this op monster into one of his creations and oh a diabloist and locked us in a room with it and pretty much said karma is a bitch while the lass who was now on her third gangrel walked away with a decent amount of cash. That was when I lost my eye

If they know it is in their nature to rebel, and know that this nature makes it impossible to build anything substantial, why don't they turn that nature against itself? Rebel against their nature, by building something and working to preserve it, rising against the worst oppression: their own instincts. Although I assume that the early Brujah were like that, before the Romans decided that Carthage needed more seasoning.

if you need counsel as to the ''Goodbye'' part of your video, consider prince Sebastien Lacroix from VtM:B every time you would meet with him, he would end this audience with the same send off phrase every time: a short but still polite ''good evening''. a send-off I've always found unsettling... not only because i dont live during the night, so its mostly never said to me (that i can remember), but also because of how... not threatening it sound, almost soothing and reassuring... from the guy that almost had me beheaded once and could easily resume the execution if he wanted to... and yet his goodbye was so normal. ... so am i the only one who got chill from that?

During every conversation with him he was so polite that i had forgotten him trying to kill me. I found myself disliking niles for being nothing more then loud mouth thugs(not that i said it to his face) Meaby it is because my lawful good nature was compairable with his lawful evil. We both valued law and order. I find that the best kind of villians are those who are polite. For example in star wars the old republic we had lord zash. She was polite, kind and you would almost think of her like a mother figheur. So when she said silence to my inqisitor i was more scared of her then i ever was of harken. Boasting you will kill me just makes me tune you out(thanks skyrim for making me immune to loudmouths) being polite in a position that require's a great deal of power to gain and maintain. @@Unknownuser-cq8mi The Lasombra are the Ventrue's cousins in the Sabbat. They're just as high and mighty as the Ventrue, and they think that they should be the ones in charge of Kindred society instead of them. However, whereas the Ventrue believe that rulership is their right by pedigree, the Lasombra believe they deserve the right as they are the most capable; a long-standing tradition for the Lasombra is to systematically destroy the lives of their prospective Childe, usually someone who is extremely well off, and waiting to see if they can build themselves back up, several times if need be, until the Sire is satisfied before giving the Embrace, thus ensuring that the Lasombra as a whole are perfectly capable of dealing with setbacks and long odds in their administration. Also unlike the Ventrue, the Lasombra are not picky eaters. Instead, the Lasombra's curse is that they cannot be seen indirectly, meaning they cast no reflection and do not show up on camera. Another facet of the Lasombra's curse is that, due to the Clan's affinity for shadow magic, they are even weaker to sunlight than what would be considered normal for other vampires.

As someone who played a Brujah, this was well done. And yes, I agree with the Philosopher King type Brujah being infinitely more fun to play. I love the Brujah who sits in on discussions involving the normal social clans only for him to keep quiet, assessing everyone's points, and when everyone else is done, rip their arguments to tatters through logic and reason. Then when they attempt to discredit him, only then does the firebrand come out. Super satisfying

As a longtime World of Darkness as much as 40k fan I gotta say this got me pretty excited. I agree that the interpretation you cast of the Brujah was a grim one, but in all fairness it fits the setting well. I agree they are very much a clan fallen from grace who's legacy is one of failure yet are paradoxically a clan offering a great deal of hope (by WoD standards at least). Your spin on the clan is definitely different from a lot of other discussions I've seen on them, but I enjoyed it a great deal and it got the wheels turning in my head enough to make me actually like the Brujah. I've never hated them, but I did find the clan quite overrated. However you sold a Ventrue fan on the Brujah so I'd say you've done something right, keep up the good work. Oh and as a WoD junkie I can tell you that you got most of the finer details of the lore pretty spot on. Anything you might've "missed" is simply disputes on the nature of how the stories actually go, but you got the primary takes just right. As far as WoD lore goes, you're a natural imo.

Most Malkavians have only one mental disorder, and those who ended up with something crippling like shizophrenia are taken under protection of other Malks who ended up with something like obsessive-compulsive disorder, gender disphoria or PTSD - things you can still kinda function with.

Mezmerro Technically you could opt in on more than one mental disorder for more bonus points to spend on character creation. World of Darkness lore videos, that's a 10+ idea. So many fascinating topics worth of weeks in length, with lore videos. Baba Jaga is a WoD character created on a base of actual Slavic mythology Witch (she lived in a house standing on a single, big chicken leg). I remember how my parents told me of the Baba Jaga lurking somewhere, where they didn't wanted me to go. I really think You would enjoy making lore videos of WoD, especially clans such as: Tzimitzie, Lasombra, Ravnos, Malkavian, Nosferatu. Not to mention all other wonderfull stuff that WoD offers like Wearwolves, Wraiths, Mummies, Hunters, Demons, Mages and mythology of mentioned.

Love this, and i hope you'll do some more videos on the others clans, the Malkavians especially. You might find it interesting to know, that my current Brujah character in the vampire LARP i play in, has a little twist on the Brujah passion for fighting for a cause. He is passionately obsessed with the rule of law, and honour. Not the spirit of the law, but the letter of the law and the Traditions. There is a bit of influence from 40k's Konrad Curze in there, aswell as a bit of Stannis from GoT. Its been a rather fun character to play as he keeps getting into trouble for punishing, or at least trying to punish, those of higher station than himself. I am sure you can imagine the issues arising from a lowly Ancillae telling an Elder Prince that they have broken the law and should be punished.

Eastern European here. The moment you mentioned "baba Yaga"I burst into laughter. Baba Yaga is an Eastern European folklore figure. The most prominent and widely spread one at that. She is a witch that lives in a house that stands on 2 chicken legs and resembles the witch from Hansel and Gretel more than anything else. Every kid has heard of baba (grandma) Yaga. Her being a very well established figure all around Eastern Europe, makes this vampire interpretation sound completely absurd.

In my last Larp, I played a 6th Trujah (True Brujah) that was trying to rebuild Carthage in his city. He sworn brother to the Prince who was an also a Trujah. She named him Primogen and as Primogen he told all the Brujah players that when they were in public the clan acted on a united front. Privately issues would be addressed. If something was important and needed to be addressed immediately all the Brujah players would gather and hold a council. Several new players tried to overstep their place and I had to put them down. My Temporis and initiative were so high most fights were over before they started. Fools that failed to observe protocol were usually staked. But as Primogen he always asked the clan about everything unless it was something minor. Only a few non-trujah knew he wasn't a regular brujah. And that is only because they could see him alter time in tangible ways. Like literally pulling a Thanos and pausing time around a grenade as it exploded so his allies can escape. GM made me spend a shit ton of blood to do that one. But it was whether it. When his sister was ousted and he stepped down as primogen. A role he was more than happy to give up and became the Scrouge which he hated more than being Primogen. He was trying to rebuild his smuggling next the Fishers and had to deal with fucking Irish gangrel muscling him out of his own waters.

@elysiankentarchy1531
@elysiankentarchy1531 11 ай бұрын
In a nutshell: Baba Yaga was a Nosferatu. The Nosferatu Antidiluvian really hates his descendants and wants to murder all of them. So he created a bunch of fourth generation childe called the Nictutu and sent them out into the world to carry out this task. The one who went to deal with Baba Yaga was extremely old (so insanely powerful) and was embraced when he(?) was a child. Now, that doesn't sound so bad, what could be the problem? The problem is that he barely had any humanity *before* he was embraced and it has certainly not become more human since then. As in, he, as a child, was on death row for murdering his family and several other villagers and the Antediluvian found him observing a spider eating its prey and wishing he could be that spider. This thing does not have a consistent human form and while it does probably have one dot of humanity, it probably has just that one dot.
