If u struggle with VTOL, just put the HVR and ALT on (autopilot) they keep you steady and its much easier

you do know that you need to turn apu on and let the rpm settle before turning on the main battery then the engines once both rpms settle

this game is impossibly hard to control in hover mode. i can keep it stable and all, and regular flight is no problem as well, but vertical landing is frustrating. that virtual joystick is a dumb idea in my opinion. the dead zone is all over the place, and the stick does not react as expected in some situations. like when you pull up, and your wrist already hurts because your plane is still heading nose down and you cant pull back any more, you keep using rudder even when you try not to. tried many methods , like resting the controller butt on my arm rest and other stuff, but being unable to feel the joysticks resistance, the lack of a center position, and the fumbly thrust lever makes it frustrating. the cockpit is a nice concept, but i would prefer some actual controls over virtual ones.

It is possible once you get the hang of when to activate hvr autopilot, together with alt autopiltot here and there. I do agree the controls don't need to be as fine as they are now. But I notice that every session I get a little better. Easy to learn, hard to master I guess.

I felt the same way when I had under 10 hours on the simulator, but you can control it with autopilot and manual combined. Love this simulator, you can feel the weight of the craft as you try to precision vertical land.

use the HVR and Alt together, also use full flaps and make sure landing gear is down. Good to practice anywhere. Dont freak out by wrecking in missions. Just try to use HVR and ALT, Heading.....

It took me awhile to adjust. Mostly had to figure out that when you grip the joystick, you're turning your controller into that joystick. So you don't push it forward, you tilt it. Rather then in Ultrawings where you grip the stick and move it with your hand.
