For those who don't know that sign IS a yield sign. 2:50 Not bait, just traffic, the cop couldn't merge because there was too much traffic. 3:48 NOTE THE TRAFFIC LIGHT FURTHER DOWN AT 3:39 It just turned green allowing traffic to once again flow, previously it was backed up too much, this is an intersection and the cop needs to cross to the other side of the blocked lane or get into that lane.

The cop had plenty of chances to merge, and even if it wasn't intentional it's still entrapment since he created the problem in the first place, the driver will probably have to just eat the fine though since court is so expensive, even with the dashcam footage

@@oh_sweet Entrapment would still need a more active pull from the officer, no? You can't legally claim entrapment solely because a cop you couldn't see didn't stop you from breaking the law. Yielding a merge on a busy street (in rain as well) for an extended period is something anyone could (and honestly should) do. For all that guy knew, the car they passed could've been a shy teen with a fresh permit who's never gone above 55mph. If the cop had hazard lights or something, and then pulled over, then it could be entrapment, seeing as the cruiser hypothetically works fine enough to stop whoever passed it.

@@claylilac it would help if we knew how long they were sitting there for, the way the footage was done makes it hard to tell, but here in omaha if you see gaps in traffic like that you take them, unless you aren't from omaha then everyone hates how you drive

@@oh_sweet Watching further in the video, Deme actually makes a good point that the merge lane goes on a bit. Meaning the cop likely shouldn't have stopped at the yield sign to merge, and probably could have given enough space for others to find their own window. Not entirely sure how a police misjudgement (whether malice or incompetence) would effect an entrapment claim, specifically, but it could probably help dismiss any tickets.
