Quick thing about Herdstones that Reggie didn't seem to do: there are certain locations that are considered racial capitols (Lothern, Skavenblight, Naggaroth, etc) and if you erect a Herdstone in these locations, then you get factionwide bonuses when the Herdstone hits level 5

I think it's worse on his Sultan Slave one. At least a week of fighting using nothing but modded slaves, fighting rats, the French, Tomb Kings, Karl Franz and his own will to off himself. Hilarious and would love to see a react to that.

Beastmen infantry are actually really good. Even in the late game. Bestigors especially. They're some of the fastest in the game (which is a massive plus for infantry). I believe he was using a mod that added those gouge horn units and bestigors with shields. Bestigor great weapons, especially under Khazrak's command, are great. Definitely recommend trying beastmen at some point. They're the red-headed step child of GW and deserve all the love and it's moo-moo time 🐮

After seeing the changes made to Beastmen in Warhammer 2 they've definitely piqued my interest. Don't think switching between too many factions when I'm trying to learn the game would be a good strat, but the Beastmen are a faction I'll definitely try out some day.

Alith Anar, or "The Shadow King" is the edgelord king of the high elf kingdom of Naggarythe. Naggarythe is notable because before Alith Anar, Naggarythe was ruled by Malekith. Son of Aenarion, the first Phoenix king. After Malekith failed to become the Phoenix king, and became the Witch king, he led his civil war against the elves from Naggarythe. Eventually he and his followers (the newly minted Drucharii or dark elves) were pushed out of Ukthuan after a ritual they launched at the Vortex backfired, and literally scorched Naggarythe, which had come to be known as the "Shadow lands." Malekith and his followers went west to the frozen lands accross the sea, and created their own kingdom, naming the land "Naggarond" and ftom there they plot their vengeance against Ulthuan. Anyways, After Malekith, Alith Anar was made the new king of Naggarythe. Hardly a reward, as again, the land had been scorched by Malekiths failed ritual, rendering it inhospitable. More than that, many dark elves remained in hiding in the region, having bern left behind or unable to escape with Malekith. Alith Anar took it upon himsrlf to hunt down and kill these dark elves. A task to which his unique skill set was well suited. He and his shadow warriors purged ulthuan clean of Drucharii filth, and those they didnt kill were crucified on trees as a warning. This made the other soft high elf princes nervous, but how could they understand? Alith Anars work was grim, but necessary. It didn't matter that he enjoyed it. As a consequence of Anars reputation, his methods, his attitude, and the barren nature of his kingdom, he and Naggarythe became effectively ostracized by the other elven kingdoms. Alith Anar didnt much care though. Not only was Naggarythe where dark elves were born, it was also the nearest border to Naggarond, and a popular site for Dark elf landing parties. So, while the other elves politic and party, for the Shadow king, the war against the Drucharii goes on, as he maintains his g grim vigil, he keeps the rest of Ulthuan safe, though they do not thank him for it.

As for his being in Dark elf lands in game? The lore excuse is thst he's there to contain the dark elves. Actively taking the fight to them, so they aren't tempted to invade Ulthuan. He's a bit of an edge lord, yeah. But the nerd in me still thinks he's super cool. Also, he's voiced by Cole Sprouse (Cody, from the suite life of zack and Cody)

I've always found alith anar to be one of the coolest high elves with his lore and abilities to play like a skaven with the ambushes and teleport, it's a shame his faction isn't as involved as say eltharion with all the new units he has access to

Lorewise Taurox is the enemy of the Empire, he doesn't really meet the Wood Elves, oddly enough. Morghur is the one who is the ancestral enemy of the Wood Elves. As far as I'm aware, Perfect Vigour ignores all tired effects including from the blood grounds, I might be wrong on that though, I haven't really had the chance to check. I'm surprised he didn't really use Morghur as his front-line character against the elves. After level 10 Morghur should have 85% missile resist which, combined with his regeneration, makes him virtally immortal against archers. He also kills all enemy units by just standing near them. I would also highly recommend putting the battle AI on Very Hard then turning down their stat bonuses to 0%. It makes the AI a lot smarter (without unfairly making fights harder), to the point where cavalry can competently dodge siege equipment, and the AI will not make stupid mistakes like throwing away units for no reason or standing still while you shoot them. Khazrak's third assault on Lothern was unbelievably lucky. Those towers are not that inaccurate, and I've never seen them miss that many shots. The reason thr final battle seems easy is because it was designed for Warhammer 1, where the level cap was significantly lower.

I've seen perfect vigour units starting tired in battles being caught in force march for example and it affected them so technically they are immune to debuffs unless it comes from the campaign map

Alith Anar is in naggarond because he is hunting Malekith for his crimes against elf kind is the TLDR of his lore also the sisters start the game on an eagle and they get a dragon later on so taurox doesnt like them

Love the beastmen so much. I can go on long rants about them and pull up there army books for table top I have. So a little lore about Taurox Taurox was once a usual Minotaur but one day after biting the head off a demon that came to deliver a message to him, he went on a blood and rage fueled rampage throughout the country side that lasted for months without resting or stopping until he finally collapsed of exhaustion. The chaos gods took notice and thought it would be interesting and funny to make him a never ending engine of destruction, he can no longer get tired and is constantly enraged, they turned his skin into brass but he had a weak spot on his neck, the game makes it large looking but in lore it’s like a small hole. His campaign in TWWH2 is about finding a way to seal that hole in his neck to become nigh unstoppable. And about the Reggie video he doesn’t fully show Taurox to his full extent, where your not supposed to take Taurox slow and steady, he is built to keep moving, and also you can raise heardstones and specific settlements to gain faction wide bonuses, so it’s actually important where ya place the heardstone, like Altdorf is one of those special cities for example.

Also extra side note Malagor the Dark Omen with the Sword of Khaine is literally one of if not the best candidate to wield it. It’s insane how busted the combo is.

Beastmen may not be my favourite faction- but they are certainly really fun after the rework. it was basically pure masochism to play them before. now they become a massive threat and a big problem very quickly. they are a bit of a high mobility steam roll faction. where as the lizards you're used to are kinda either monster mash. or a slower crunching through the enemy front line. glad to be following your journey with the game!

Taurox was introduced in WH2 where the max level was 30. A lot of older characters from the first two games have the same level differences against their enemies in quest battles

15:17 It is not super clear to see but here the foliage actually goes away as he zooms in. Why it did not do this during your stream is weird and perhaps something stupid with low texture setting? 19:04 Clearer to see the effect of foliage becoming ob 20:27 That dark red swirl is a sea lane that connects to another swirl somewhere else, I think this one connects to one around the northwest of Lustria, those take 2-3 turns to spit out your army at the other side. Lustria also has one that leads to the east of Cathay (essentially they are fast-ish travel points that help with the whole round map/planet illusion and travel. 22:13 When you are the one being ambushed you get that kind of intro after loading into the battle as it shows that you are not being able to deploy your units before the battle is joined as the enemy comes at you while you are still marching through the countryside. 29:18 Important to note you need the big Beastmen DLC to have access to those legendary lords in this menu as you get to play them after confederating them like this and CA did not leave that kind of loophole if you only have Taurox.

I will say I do believe he had only a few mods. I believe only the Gor herd with Great weapons, Gouge horns, and bestigor herd (without great weapons) are the only added units, Surprisingly.

A hero being an agent means that by themselves they can't be drawn into combat at all. Apparently I was wrong, it's just really stupid to use Lord Kroak as an agent.

You're wrong, Kroak is a hero, which means he can be used as an agent and he cannot be fought unless he's in an army. Reggie's comment is because it's really stupid to use Kroak as an agent.

As an older RTS player: APM doesn't matter. I've seen pro players obliterate people with 40 APM or less in AoE, I've seen it go to the single digits in SupCom with templates and repeating command queues. If APM does matter, it's a poorly designed RTS, and you are experiencing an issue of poor automation/lack of delayed actions(eg. Starcraft's and Warcraft's unit abilities - especially micro intensive ones) What should matter is the meaningful actions you take and the distribution of attention(aka multitasking). This is the main reason I prefer games like AoE, Homeworld, and SupCom over any 4X game as they force you into that multitasking mentality where you manage an entire military industry and not become the micromanagement hell that is some games I've played. Remember, you need to check every unit to see if they are on the correct path, not to command each unit every half a second.

I will say that the one thing that is always kind of a bitch is the amount of player bias the ai for the game. From hearing warhammer content creaters and experiencing it myself, that's probably a decent thing to think about.

That is not true, the mod gives the Beastmen access to units they never had on the tabletop and which also contradicts the lore. I don't have a problem with people using whatever mods they want, I do have a problem when people say it "finishes" the army when it gives them things they never had before.
