It's refreshing to see a young guy like you doing the projects that you're doing.. I really enjoy your channel. I used to work in a body shop as a kid. They make a really nice tool to cut the spot welds . Keep up the excellent work.
@BB-jf6lx4 жыл бұрын
Yes there is a special tool that I have used in a build I did where I had to drill out about 100 spot welds and the tool I used made the job a POC. It is like a drill bit but has a replaceable tip and the tip is flat not convexed so it cuts only the spot weld and if you don't ouch too hard it won't eat through the second skin. I have a picture of the tool and the package it came in and could send you that by EM. I also commented and sent the same info to the Goonz but haven't seen them using anything like it yet. Gonna check their latest Trackhawk vid to see if they still use a grinder on the spot welds. Keep the good content. I had to break out my goggles during your cutting out of the pillar so I didn't catch a piece in the eye 😂

Agree 100% I commented above about the need for safety glasses, but as you said, hearing protection is equally important. I too have non-stop ringing in my left ear due to repeated prolonged exposure to the high pitch sound of a vacuum pump without hearing protection. As I’m sure you will agree, the constant ringing can drive you insane at times and keep you from sleeping well.

Worked for the company who made the hinges they are fairly soft and designed to stretch and twist so the doors don't come off in a collision.. replace them & get new hardware to mount them.. Hinge position is not the same for every truck they have a big tolerance on the position so the can correct the flushness issues created welding the body.. Try the new hinges before you pull that pillar.
