@14:37 that’s why instead of putting straight bondo on first I’ve either used ankle hair fiberglass or duraglass than bondo, it’s sturdier.. but I commend you in showing us that your man enough to call it quits when the repair isn’t working to your expectations…awesome work .

Always impressed with your skill set and honesty. Hood was looking good. But in the end you made the right call. A new hood is the way to go. Great progress on this project for sure.

Ben can I suggest that you need to use a shop vac when blocking the bondo and glaze this will keep your shop much cleaner and eventually keep The paintwork cleaner to beep up the great work.

It was one thing to even tackle repairing the lid, it was impressive as to how close you came and even more impressive that you didn't think it good enough and cut your loses; most people having got so far and so close would have settled for it being "close enough".

You need a dust/air filtration/extraction system. Both for your health and to keep the workshop clean. There is a reason most body shops aren't painted black, they show dust!
