This film has to be evaluated on its own terms. Compared to the original Beetlejuice, Michael Keaton seems a bit old and not nearly as "energetic," meaning hyper as hell. But maybe he hung out too long after getting walloped by that sandworm and lost some of his moxy.

mediocre at best. Beetlejuice 1988 is the only beetlejuice. This one seems like someone trying to be Beetlejuice and failed but it's Michael Keaton. Zero energy in this film.
