This tutorial got me my first job as a web developer. I'm not even kidding. I had only ever worked with React, but as part of the interview process I accepted an assessment project that required Vue, and this tutorial taught me enough to complete the project -- and that project landed me an offer. Thank you Shaun! 😀

Hi Shaun I ve bought your udemi course and as usual your lectures are as clear as they can get. Plus Vue is sort of Easy to pick up. It s way easier than react. If I May point out some área for improvement, I would have integrated in the course the following topics: state management (Vuex), Vuetify, and CloudFunctions in the course. I am aware that some of the stuff I m mentioning is available in your free tutorials on youtube. Still it would have been great to find everything presented organically in one place.

Why should you use xampp for Vue, you will need for backend development like PHP. I think... Live server is just running the same HTML file with live update without refreshing after saving your HTML file!

Vue in TypeScript. Thats All I Wanted.
@devprocedure6 ай бұрын
I do NOT see "real-world" problem being solved by using TypeScript. All I see are silly examples of a "function that adds or divides 2 numbers' to justify "type checking". e.g., Who writes a function just to do basic math???? Next, developers are testing (aka runtime) their code LINE-BY-LINE anyway, so "compile-time" checking isn't all that beneficial in saving a developer time coding. In other words, TypeScript adds a layer of complexity that doesn't have that much benefit to JavaScript world. NEWS FLASH: 1. Most data on the Client Side are STRINGS anyway. 2. NUMBERS and DATES are already validated in the client's browser anyway. 3. And YES, you are passing data for a KNOWN REASON. So you have a pretty good idea what is to be expected. And those to say you don't OR say you haven't worked with a large code base are justifying passing parameters that you have NO CLUE in what you are passing? If so, that is a sneaky form of "job security". LOL.
@consoledoterror9716 ай бұрын
Use TypeScript in a large project. Try to get used to it. I know it feels like it brings extra complexity. But once you get used to TypeScript, you will never go back to Vanilla JS. I guarantee that. And also there are also people who use Flow/JSDoc. People who come from statically typed languages will find TypeScript easy to adopt. There are also things like ESLint, Prettier. These are all brought in for better DX. No real world problem is getting solved.
@devprocedure6 ай бұрын
@@consoledoterror971 TypeScript is, IMO, useless at the client browser and makes things more complicated. Hence, why some big JS projects are ditching TypeScript. SECOND, instead of say node.js on the backend, (where you can use JavaScript Language), use something like C#
@consoledoterror9716 ай бұрын
@@devprocedure I remember spending loads of time figuring out, why TypeScript is throwing errors. But now that I got used to it. I always choose TypeScript over Vanilla JS. In the end it's all personal preference. You can see a lot of javscript libraries come with TypeScript declarations for better DX. Take vim, ESLint and Emacs. You can see a lot of communities spending time on making plugins and extensions which upfront doesn't solve any real world problems. It's all for Developer Experience.
