@@vuhlandes calm down please. You post your images on a public forum you can't expect everything to be accolades and worshiping compliments. If you're gonna hit the ceiling by any mild comment perhaps you should take your video down. Art is not a matter of ego or how macho one is, it's a learning process. When you show your work people can express their opinion however they want. it's not worth it to get your ego all agitated, just keep learning and profit from any opinion, good, bad or whatever.

Enjoyed this! I believe that essentially the two cameras differ in the way they are intended to be used. The RZ is at its best on a tripod and the 67 is not - especially for 'portrait' format shots. As to the fault in the camera I suspect this may lie not in the body but either with that particular back or in the rotating linkage between body and back - just a thought.

Ok this is a long shot but I’d recommend you to send RZ67 to its motherland, Japan, for repair. My personal recommendation is Yamada Technical Service in Nagano prefecture. Just google their name and you will find their phone number and address. The issue is they have no website or email address whatsoever. They speak almost no English either... BUT they took over massive amount of Mamiya spare parts from Mamiya when Mamiya stopped manufacturing analog cameras. In Japan Yamada is a goto repair shop for all Mamiya. Anyhow, just a suggestion. (BTW I’m Japanese living in Japan and have repairs a Mamiya camera at Yamada.)

The problem for me with the pentax 67 was the mirror slap. No sharp photos under 1/60th sec. Shooting mirror up was too much pain! I loved the rb67 ! Used it with an add on winder and prism finder .

This has me anxious. My Pentax 6x7 got stolen a few months ago, and I've been doing nonstop grinding to earn the funds to get me another. I'm worried about the price on these taking off.
@teflonjr3 жыл бұрын
Oof, if someone stole mine I'd cry blood. Don't be too worried though, since I bought mine (four years ago) the price has about doubled, but so many youtubers has spoken so well about it for so long that I don't believe that one more video will do a lot of difference. I hope that you get the funds soon enough, if not there are cheaper alternatives, as the often overlooked pentacon six.

Hey Vuhlandes. Thanks for a great update. You continue to progress/innovate your workflow and using the Pentax 67 is certainly achieving this. Using the Pentax 67 for portraits can be problematic due to its size/weight/heft. Although I am a Pro SD shooter I can see why many photogs use the Pentax 67.

My first ex stalked me for over 2 years. There were conversations with that kind of vibe. Instead of PTSD flashbacks, I LMAO! That intro was inspired. The Pentax 105 is legendary, as I am sure you know. I shot an RB67 back in the 80's on one gig and labeled it "Real Bitch". However, the Rotating Back is an inspired bit of engineering and has practical merits as you pointed out. I believe Mamiya had a 127 for that model that served well for portraits (probably what I used on that gig). Have you tried it? Don't know how it compares to the other glass. I believe they had a 90 as well as 110. P.S. - You can call the RB/RZ an SLR even though it doesn't have side protrusions to grab; the optical configuration is the same. Mia is just one step more modular. Mmm.
