Broken arrow have potential.. but warno is unique. Still miss something in the game. Larger maps. Ability for infantry to dig down into defensive positions, or make trench systems. Broken arrow is also modern warfare.. where modern equipment is used. Here the maps should definitely be larger.

Broken Arrow was the first game of this type I tried. How does the current Warno compare to the last beta of Broker Arrow. Is it worth picking up Warno?

I think if you enjoyed Broken Arrow, you’d like Warno. There are a lot of factions and maps so a nice steep learning curve. Also a lot less middles lol

Anyone else having random game crashes since the new patch? Game has always been stable for me with no changes to my rig. It's the new patch I believe. Have already done a file check through Steam, but it still crashes occasionally.

Make sure you send crash reports if you have the option and it should get fixed if it is on their end.

love to see this replay casts... but i have a general question: why is the patriot system not in the game? and where is the F-14 Tomcat? both are "iconic" systems from the cold war era and they are not in a cold war wargame? what happened?

@@connorjacobs6 for example in red dragon you just call in a tomcat and put it at the edge of the map. it is save and you can see all enemy aircraft.

For the Tomcat, I think it's because the game's divisions at the moment right are largely units that would be in Germany at the start of the war or could arrive there in days and, at most, several weeks. Because of that and the lore being that the Soviets launched a surprise attack, it's just unlikely that there would be much naval aviation close by. However, I think the Tomcat will come to the game at some point, just not immanently. Eugen wants to expand the scope of the game's scenario over time and is doing so (for instance, they're working on NORTHAG right now and thus bringing Dutch, Belgian, and Polish divisions into the game and will go onto SOUTHAG from there). Because of that, I think Tomcats will arrive. My best guess is that it would first arrive as part of a Nemesis DLC because those don't require them to think too hard about how exactly any particular division fits into the scenario, and with it they could plausibly do a Nemesis DLC featuring American and Soviet marine divisions backed by naval aviation (such as Tomcats and A-6 Intruders for the Americans and Yak-38s for the Soviets and KA-25s for the Soviets). Less likely, the Tomcat may be introduced with one of the big expansions where they add Army General campaigns for different fronts of the conflict and expand the scope of the conflict, and I could conceive of at least one theater where US Navy aviation would likely head to reinforce, and that's Scandinavia so, if they aren't already introduced in a future Nemesis DLC, it will likely be there.

For Patriot, it it both a very new and high performance system, for the time, and a massive step up in coverage from the medium range Hawk, but mostly its just not something you'd see anywhere near the frontline, let alone used in a tactical level engagement, unless things have gone very, very wrong. I think the only place a Patriot battery would really be appropriate in WARNO is as an air defense pawn in larger area Army General campaigns. But, and this is a big but, if they do get modeled for that purpose (for the eventuality of being overrun by Pact deep penetrations) Eugen will probably find some way to justify putting them in a multiplayer division. Probably I'd bet as part of some sort of slapdash amalgamation of reserve and rear area security units thrown into the breach out of desperation, so that ungodly AA is one of the few good things the resultant deck has going for it.

Tomcat would be more at home in the pacific, Mediterranean or wherever carrier task groups are sent, not so much the German plains. F15 is in game and is just as capable, so I’m sure that isn’t a consideration. I’m sure it will be added in the future though and other units missing now like marine divisions. Focus is on the German plains, at least for now. As for the patriot, this game simulates front line warfare and these would not be placed there as is mentioned, wouldn’t surprise me if they will be added in future though, and otherwise I’m sure a modder will have a go!
