Of couse the first time I go super experimental with a deck, I get featured in a Vulcan video haha. I've now since stopped using this as solely heliborne, only have afghantsy in helos now. Been doing a lot better after this one, lololol. Had a blast and will hopefully match up again with my cemented deck. -Wilhuff

Love the video! As a total strategy noob, I'm not gonna judge the tactics, but the landings were very cinematic and it was very pleasant to watch. Thanks for another cool video. Also, calling the venerable Ra Endymion "Endy" made me laugh.

Great game. Fun to watch as always. They weren't winning against worse troops because their cohesion was being wrecked by fire support, I think. You also lost a lot of manpower attack moving across the open 16:05 a good example of this, 10 man aero losing to a 6 man desant. Again at 19:06 and 21:44. Just taking way more damage than necessary. Units just stopping to fire at units in heavy cover while stood in the open, where if theyd just moved to cover theyd have probably won, especially because your units all had the shock trait. I think attack moving infantry when advancing on buildings is a bad idea. You put yourself in a prolonged firefight where you have no cover and your opponent has heavy cover. One of the advantages of "elite troops", is theyre harder to stun, slower to supress and as a result move faster and are in a better condition to fight on arrival. All advantages you lose if you stop on open ground to have a firefight with a worse unit in heavy cover, where the loss of cohesion will rapidly make your "elite" troops worse than the technically statistically inferior conscripts. Because cohesion ultimately cleaves the stats so much that high vs low cohesion make all other considerations irrelevant. More guns, better guns and higher accuracy mean nothing if you have a negative 90% cohesion modifier and your opponent doesn't. Also, running infantry back to the chinooks, rather than using the goats, which arent doing anything, to ferry supply from the chinooks to the town. Didn't need to give up that position. By 08:40 you could have tucked goats or mules in behind that rear building in the trees. If you lose a mule, its 300 supply, its not the end of the world. By 21:00 you have half the town and are still running a marathon back to the chinooks. Sure those units lived, but its a touch pyric given they were out of the fight for 15 minutes given the distance to supply. It's not until 24:00 your first and only goat arrives at the town, at a position at the back of the town, at a point you've controlled for some twenty minutes. At which point it could have been tucked up on the right behind the apartment block at the frontline. Or in the tree line on the left just behind your line. Both locations where it could have supplied without your troops needing to leave the fight. Honestly when those 3 chinooks got in at 08:00 I might have been greedy and tried to get a supply chinook into that position, especially given the apparent streamer gentleman's agreement not to arty supply helos :P.

I think you have some things mixed up about how to use this division, your infantry is not cheap or good for grinding, your squads are all very pricey on a per-man basis, even the 55 point Aero Rifles have a bad rate (just over 6 points per man) compared to what most divisions get (5 or better), you're at a disadvantage in mass attritional battles like this against most other divisions, they can just put more HP on the front than you and their fire support is better. Reservist divisions can use their infantry as expendable meatshields but 101st is the opposite, it's an elite air assault unit with top tier US special forces, you will lose if you trade them man for man throwing them against superior numbers, fire support, artillery, etc. Fortunately here your opponent was the 101st's Soviet counterpart so you could fight on a somewhat even footing, elite vs elite. Using transport helos to drop reinforcements right at the edge of enemy AA behind your own lines is both risky and wasting their potential, they're just expensive trucks that can get hit by manpads if you do that. And you saw what happened with your attack helos when you tried to charge them in over the front line, they got shot to pieces immediately, helos cannot survive against concentrated AA, they need to stay away from heavily defended frontline areas. I think your teammate had the right idea at the end there, sending heliborne troops to seize the opponent's rear zones and hook around and hit their back line.

It's very interesting to see the recommendation to be even more audacious, yes that's what the intent behind the "air assault" division is but the thing that's been nailed into my head over my limited personal gameplay and watching lots of it is that attack helicopters are defensive and artillery is offensive How has it worked out for you in your experience?
@VulcanHDGaming6 ай бұрын
@xeroprotagonist I think in a 1v1 your points are definitely correct and the way I play is not the most efficient. However it undeniably works as ive tried it multiple times now, and keeping the pressure in the sector is how you win in conquest.
@xeroprotagonist6 ай бұрын
@@VulcanHDGaming I think it works for you because you're a very skilled and experienced player, if you put constant pressure on the front then it tends to prevent either side from building up and it makes micro skills matter more. But that's not the only strategy that can win, and some divisions work better if they build up a large combined-arms force for big, discrete attacks instead of putting on constant pressure with a drip feed of units. You do need to pressure zones in conquest but with the high mobility you get from your helos you can pressure EVERY zone, from multiple directions, you don't need to do a continual push in one spot. You see from these replays that players often have literally nothing protecting multiple zones and get away with it because their opponents get tunnel vision on one particular zone for the entire match, 101st is probably the most capable division in the game at punishing that.
@RaEndymion0016 ай бұрын
@@xeroprotagonistthere is only 3 zone to contest in two ways. The right side is not too feasible since the 79 guard are defending it. That is why i focus on the mid with my better infantry and close range abrams to limit their atgm capability. The left is just a slugfest but as long as we are contesting it we will win the game.

When you´re attack-moving through the town with your infantry will they auto-move in buildings to take cover?

It depends if you attack move multiple building, it will jump in and out of building depending on the enemy but if you attack move somwhere that pass a building, they will bypass the building
