Is it possible to change the filter on an Amarok without VCDS for example fill the filter with fuel and turn ignition on and off a few times?

Dallorran Wildwalker . Hi there for information I clamped both fuel lines in and out of the filter then took filter off. I then filled the new filter with fuel from the inward line and refitted it then removed the clamps. I got into Amarok and turned key on and off twice but did not start. On third time I started Amarok and let it idle for 5 minutes and have had no problems since. Hope this helps

@@ianmckeown2950 Awesome thank you for your quick and informative reply. I will check it over with a friend of mine who is a bit more mechanical inclined than I am. This will be my first maintenance since the six months I bought the car, thought I would replace the proper parts myself and make sure it is good to go before the winter. I want to learn to do a few things myself without stopping at the service garage for every other thing and being depended on them. :)

@@selefr8317 Ok. We are presuming that the CRLB engine in your car is the same as Passat 2.0 TDI (2016 mod.) The answer is no, they have a total different type of fuelfilter. Regards Studio - Bildeler.no

Bildeler.no I mean the Vag com thing to purge the fuel pump, is that the same as the video? With a minute is enough or should we leave it longer? A greeting

@@selefr8317 Actually You don't need VAG Com on your vehicle because the filterhousing is not needed to be drained completely (as in this video). The fuelsystem in your car is selfbleeding and under normal conditions the engine will run just fine without any severe hickups during the "bleeding period". If it's stops just crank some seconds and it will come back to life again :-) Regards.

I put dislike on this video Why Shows fuel hoses Exposed in a very dirty area If you get the tiniest bit of dust in that fuel system , you better hope that you have deep deep pockets . Cleanliness and fuel systems are necessary . so dont take chances
