I had to do this for the Right Rear window. Your help was invaluable. I had also seen another vid that the cable was too tight. and mine was. So I took a Dremel tool and cut about half an inch off the cable housing so it would fit. But you got the bench top fix of this done well. Oh the price of cable was $21 now. But it sure did beat what would have paid at a garage, and taught my nephew how to do this. Thank you!

Great video but I thought it might be worth making some observations that might help others. To remove/fit the window regulator with the glass the glass must be in the raised position. If the motor is not operational it will be necessary to release both of the cables, this is possible by removing the plastic block that secures the end of the cables. The glass can then be pulled up to the top. On my car the motor would not move the glass up whilst the roof was down, not sure why but worth checking before replacing the motor and finding it does the same as the old one!

Does the motor need to be set to a specific position in the up/down cycle before you fit it back on the regulator?

You need the zip tie, because otherwise the cable can hit the bolt of the regulator while moving up and down. Don't use a bigger one because of the same problem! The cable will move if you operate the regulator, it needs some space also to do this. f it's build in, everything reinstalled it will make you angry if this zip tie is not properly installed, because you have to open up again.
