Thanks, Slade, your detailed steps are very much appreciated. 3M 90 or stronger is the way to go, don't go 80 or 70, those are too weak and the heat will undo all of your hard work, believe me I know from experience.

Another great video Slades. Don’t know if I’ll ever do this to mine but it is helpful if I do decide to do it or need to do it. Keep up the good work. When work picks up for me some more I’m going to buy something I promise lol. I had a car accident yesterday luckily me and the truck are ok someone cut right over in front of me and I hit them. First accident ever lol. Oh yeah and don’t take that poster down LOL. 🤣🤣🤣

Wow, an accident? I’m certainly glad you’re OK. That can be very dramatic. I’m really sorry to hear that. People do not pay attention on the roads any longer compared to years ago. Headliners a real pain in the butt. Those are some videos I did not enjoy doing. I really enjoy everything I do on my cars, but I hope not to have to do one of them again for a while. 😁

@@SladesVWBeetle Yes I am just fine. And yes definitely not anything I would want to do a whole lot unless I was making the big bucks LOL. But I guess that is part of the restoration is doing that. Luckily the interior on mine is ok minus the cracks in the dash.

Do you have to clean off old adhesive after removal of old headliner?

Honestly I like to clean off the old residue, to give a nice clean surface for the new adhesive to stick to.

Pull those clamps out and then bend out the little ends [teeth] out also or they will not go over the bead enough.
