I’m in the process of putting an EJ25 into a 1973 Karmann Ghia using the KEP kit but I’m using their stage 2 clutch. Im also using a Rancho prostreet transaxle...hoping this all works well together

Thanks mate, after 4 years of driving my subaru powered kombi with 2lt vw gearbox im going down the suabru gears swap. So the process is similar with a subaru clutch and flywheel. Thanks for vid and time taking explaining what you're doing. Thanks Jp

Am I missing something, a Subaru is a front engine AWD drive-train that's being installed into a VW bus (engine in back) so how do you reverse the output to the axles so you don't have one forward gear and four in reverse (5sp trans-axle)? ;-) Since seeing this conversion on various videos I've wondered how it would work on a Corvair?

We used VW transaxle with adaptor plate, do gearing remains the same. If you also install Subaru transaxle then you are correct in gearing concerns, however kits are available to correct this. Thanks. Check out Subarugears, they do this or sell the kits.

That makes it easy but now I'm even more curious how it would work in a Corvair (Corvair trans-axle)?

Oh, I vaguely remember seeing a magazine article about Crown conversions and the author joked about how GM seemed to have planed for this possibility. In the same article the author warned about not using first gear but years later you could order stronger gears that provided all four gears.

Donald K. MacBaird 5 speed is a great upgrade. More mods $ tranny mounts front & rear ,shorter shift rod , cut & weld different shifter cut weld & make longer and lock out plate $$$ & tranny $$$ . Great conversion . Did I say $$$ . 🤟🤙

Who's kit did you order? It seems like in every video about this conversion the "kit" has yet another wrong or useless part? You should tell everyone in every video who's kit you ordered so we can all avoid doing business with whoever it was. It seems like EVERYTHING they sent you needs to be replaced with something that actually works, like the whole radiator fiasco...

Company we had issues with parts, quality and will just arriving was Subiswaps. We go into lots of details in newer videos, even showing comparisons etc. To date, have not used anything they sent except for adapter. Adaptor they had shipped direct from KEP. KEP is good. Thanks.

@@michaelgerrard5947 Yeah, KEP is what everyone uses- they've been doing it for 30 years or something like that. Is Subiswaps even trying to make anything up to you? You'd think they'd just give you your money back. The bad exposure they're getting here is crazy bad for their business- just your videos alone would stop me from every buying from them.
