Is foam pad required under new liner? Looks like large amounts of thick adhesive was removed. Thanks for posting.

It is not necessary to glue the canvas with foam, but since that is the case in the original, I used that canvas. Some ordinary canvas can also be glued, but the foam gives it a nicer final look. And it must be cleaned all the way to the shell, otherwise the glue will not be able to stick the new material. Good luck with the works. Greeting.

Hello, I see you used dedicated dunlop headliner glue, was that used for both the paint brush application and the air gun? That's the only adhesive used for everything right? Did you just use the air brush to save time? Can I just manually brush all parts? Awesome video, thank you!

I have done a few headlines over the years. First and foremost DON’T skimp on adhesive. Stay away from spray can adhesive. They don’t last.

Pozdrav. Ako biste mi mogli odgovoriti na sljedece pitanje. Imam istog golfa, međutim kod mene je platno samo prljavo (prethodni vlasnik je pušio u autu, pa požutilo malo). Da li ima neka tečnost sa čime bih mogao oprati to bez da skidam sve? Koliko će to oštetiti samu podlugu? Hvala unaprijed.

Pozdrav. Svako čišćenje krovnog tapacirunga na kraju vodi ka odljepljivanju istog. Mnogi se pitaju zašto?! Zato što ispod platna, odnosno mrežice krovnog tapacirunga ima sloj spužve koja mu daje mekani, luksuzniji izgled, kada je sve novo. Vremenom ta ista spužvica propadne, izgori, izgubi svoju formu.. Korištenjem sredstava za čišćenje koji su ugl. hemijska baza tu spužvicu dodatno ošteti, a i samo trljanje krpom ili spužvom razdvaja platno od spužvice i u nekim slučajevima se odlijepi odmah a u nekim za neki određeni period. Dubinsko pranje će pogotovo oštetiti spužvicu i sve će se odlijepiti. Nadam se da ste dobili željeni odgovor. Pozdrav

I get the materials from a local supplier of equipment for the auto industry and this is a material intended for headliners with 2-3mm sponge behind. You have the same ones on Ebay.."headliner fabric with foam". Good luck with the works.

Pozdrav. Nastavak za bušilicu imaš kupiti u svim većim prodavnicama koje prodaju alat. Što se tiče nanošenja ljepila četkom može i tako samo da ideš na što kraće etape jer ako ljepilo brzo suši onda moraš tako. Namažeš traku širine 10cm pa zalijepiš štof i sve tako dok ne dođeš do kraja. I nanosiš tanak sloj da nebi protopilo ljepilo kroz štof. Sretno

Odličan posao radiš. Radiš jako oprezno, savjesno. Jedan savjet, kada radiš oko plafonjere, uzmi industrijski fen inzagrij jako odozdo i laganije odozgo tj. materijal onda pritisni i istrljaj. Neces morati stavljati peškire, posude i utege.. Svidja mi se taj trokut sto zalijepis kada radiš oko plafonjere 17:25. To nisam radio, a sutra cu probati. I kakvo je to ljepilo?

Thanks a lot. I don't know how to get Dulnop glue in Germany. Try to find this product, it should be available in Germany.. "3M Headliner & Fabric Adhesive" great option also comes in a spray. Two sprays can be to finish the headliner. Good luck with the works.

I do not disconnect the battery because there is no possibility to activate the airbags during disassembly. You can disconnect it if that makes you more comfortable. Greetings

It is a canvas with a sponge behind it. Over time, that sponge burns and decays, and that's why the canvas hangs. To be able to glue anything, you have to clean the old sponge from the shell, and the canvas that is left is so thin that any glue you use will melt and be ugly. It is best to use a new canvas with a sponge. Good luck and thank you.

@@El_Pertita I think it's enough, just be careful with the application of the glue. Apply evenly and thinly and make sure that there is not too much glue in some places, which will eventually leak through the canvas.

This is a problem with all cars that use the same type of material, headliner material with sponge. After some time, the sponge burns and then the canvas starts to separate from it. I did repairs on Peugeot, Renault, Citroen, BMW, Mercedes, Lancia, Opel, Škoda, Seat, Volvo, Alfa Romeo, Toyota, Land Rover, Audi, VW, etc. My channel has videos from almost all of these brands listed.

Everything must be cleaned. If it cannot be scraped off then it is best to use nitro thinner to wash off the old glue.
