yes. You need to make a note of all the items listed on the old canbus so that when you put the new one in you can check off the list on the new one to have everything working properly.

Hi have the same issue bought after market headunit for mk5 r32 golf and killing battery is my gateway in same place s the 06 one. And is the programming method the same as the 06 model

No it isnt. Give me a couple of days (Car at Repairers getting colour coding) and Ill hook my vagcom up and do a quick video on what to do and post on youtube then give you a link if you can wait till then.
