Thanks for posting this! You know you're in trouble when they bury a VW headlight in a motorhome! I would have NEVER figured the thing out on my own because you can't see what you're doing in there. Practiced up on my cussing, but I finally changed the bulb.

If you're handling lamps you should be using gloves anyway. Any grease left on a lamp by touching them with your finger can create a hotspot that can burn against the glass of the lamp and cause it to blow.

i got the guy at the auto store tohelp me (he offered) he couldn't figure out the clip at 1:54. i ended up saying "can i try" and i had it in the space of a second or two. he looked at me as if i was the queen of changing the bulb. i said "i look at it from here (other side of car where i could see how it was done and he couldn't) and saw how to do it. i showed him and he learned how to undo the clip. the rest was harder for me but he knew that so like thanks to this video my bulb got changed!

Thank you! I made a real mess of this. I needlessly detached the bulb retaining clip and could not see how to replace it. Your video at 1:50 showed how it hooks - thanks. The poor access makes the job hard. Took the battery out. Not a good design by VW

It was very interesting to see how you used your screwdriver at the beginning of the video to unscrew those screws, pretty good technique i like it. Also loved the way you flicked the clip off to get to the bulb, really pretty flash stuff there, technique was flawless yet again. Just changed my bulb today thanks for the video cost £7 quid Halfords wanted £10 pound for the bulb and £10 to fit it

Nice video.. except my 2002 Jetta did not have the metal holder to hold the bulb in. In stead it has a black plastic ring that turns 1/16 to take off and on. Also, make the opening music a little low and your voice a little louder for us old guys. Thank you for the help!
