I love watching your vids and this is one of my favorites. I am an ex-detailer and still periodically work (with the few who know my background) in the car clubs here in LA. More to-help-a-brother out than for $$. I have done a Golf R before and the one thing I’ve got to say is you have to watch that squeegee on the gloss black on the doors. (and pull your polisher cord tighter so it doesn’t touch the hood). Sorry, it was bugging me. I love your content (and your BMW)!

As you know i can't get my var in a garage and unfortunately it rained overnight which meant it had about 9 hours before seeing water. i was out first thing this morning and cleared the water off and it looks ok. will it have done any damage? and is there anything i should do ?

This should be true for anyone buying a car. Keep in mind, even if they do their dealer prep, which includes a car wash, it has probably had spend some time outside, you should wash it and do both chemical and mechanical decontamination. A good sealant, either ceramic or polymer, to make it easy to wash, and keep it clean. Take care of your car and never do anything aggressive. (consumer grade waxes are actually cleaner waxes and will remove your sealant or shorten its life). For ceramic coating sealant, don't wax it. Polymer sealant, you should use carnauba (as pure as you can possibly get) if you're going to put it in a show or want that warm glow. If you aren't looking for show quality, then just keep your sealant clean and topped off as recommended.

Buck Futter I personally don't think people spend $1.000+ on these kind of details only to have their car sratched up. I do believe he is not introdoucing any sratches to the paint, or if he did so, he would remove it. Judging by how he works, even the tiniest srach would annoy him 😂

Yup, ceramic coatings are the way to go. Longer lasting, better UV protection, much higher gloss, etc. They're just a bit harder to apply than waxes or sealants, and more steps involved to do the right job, but it's worth the extra effort.

Hey Pan - best product suggestion for restore/protect/add finish to vinyl top , without runoff during wash/weather ?
@marcbedingfield19347 жыл бұрын
Great long lasting protection, only let down by the water based tyre dressing that will only last a week at most, you should try tuff shine, it's a clear coat for tyres and it last a really long time if the application process is done correctly.
@PanTheOrganizer7 жыл бұрын
I personally enjoy detailing my car weekly and always remove the previous dressing (with a tire degreaser) and properly dress it again for that freshly dressed look. I'm not a big fan of petroleum based dressings but some customers like them. Never tried Tuff Shine, but I don't think I need that... To each their own. So many products to choose from... How did you discover my channel Marc?
@marcbedingfield19347 жыл бұрын
I have a golf R mk7.5 and I enjoy getting detailing tips from pros like yourself. As a enthusiast I don't use enough products to try everything on the market so it's great to see what your opinions are on product ranges. Really liked your car pro review. Keep up the good work. By the way tuff shine is a water based semi permanent tyre coating that once applied just needs wiping clean and topping up from time to time.

I am going to apply c quarts UK to my car soon and I am going to do a little correction with carpro essence first. I read somewhere that you are supposed to let the essence cure for 24hrs before applying a coating, but on your video it looked like you applied it straight after polishing or it may just have been the way it was edited. You obviously got stunning results on the golf r so I would presume it's fine to apply c quarts straight after essence, any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.
@PanTheOrganizer7 жыл бұрын
Hi Mark. As per CarPro's own instructions, if you apply Essence by machine (which you should), you do the full car, then buff off and you can immediately apply CQuartz or Reload. No need to wait 24 hours. Also, I hope you watched one of my most popular videos on how to properly apply a ceramic coating. With over 510 000, it ranks number one on KZbin for ceramic coatings: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mKqulIypet6Kfc0

Fantastic video and very well done. The best detail video I've seen especially as it pertains to my car I'd opt for a slightly different choice of products myself.. but that's half the fun of detailing. :D I will be using this as a reference when detailing and ceramic coating my MK7 Golf R. And LOL at the guys saying this is $100-500. In product used... maybe. Any decent detailer, for this type of work you are looking at over 1k upwards of 2.5k for a full paint correction and ceramic coating.

Pan, would you please mind sharing what pad you were using during the polishing process? I've got Gyeon Q2 Primer for the prep/polishing stage and would love to know what pad would be best for this.

It was a CarPro Gloss white pad designed to work together with CarPro Essence polish and SiO2 primer.

People let me clear this up the raw product amt alone he's using probably around 100 dollars alone. This detail probably cost around 800- to a cool grand USD easily. This dude put in intense work and honestly the best detailer I've seen. I just detail my own car with the products I can afford which is around a third or less than the amt of products he uses and I'd charge 200 easily probably 250. Mad props for this awesome exterior detail Pan you are something else.

Any thoughts about using the two bucket method when cleaning the wheels? One bucket with the soap/wheel cleaner, a second bucket with clear water to rinse the brushes and avoid contaminating the cleaning solution with brake dust.

What do you do to clean the rusty brake rotors after you finish washing the car? If you just constantly brake, do you get rust on your clean wheels? Also for the iron X stage, do you rinse before you start to clay? or is it drying in the sun and you spray clay lube over it? thanks.

If you were to install paint protective film on the car ex: XPel), would you then follow the same steps in terms of buffing and then ceramic coating?
@PanTheOrganizer6 жыл бұрын
You would do all the paint correction steps and paint prep BEFORE applying the PPF. Once the PPF is applied, then you can go ahead and apply two layers of your favorite ceramic coating on top.
