Amazing video buddy I’m doing the swap on my 2003 mk4 Jetta 24v vr6 and I’m on wiring stage level now I been watching your videos everyday lol again great job you helped me a lot 🙏🏼

Good luck with your swap! It’s so sweet when you finally get to drive it with a manual! And it accentuates the wookie noises!

@@hestermannmotorwerks hey buddy just quick question. Do I need the cruise control switch the (blue switch) ?
@hestermannmotorwerks Жыл бұрын
@@djriyo7489 short answer, no. You can do the swap with out adding the cruise control function.

that being said, I field a lot of questions from people that did the swap (or bought a car with the swap already done) and are now trying to go back and fix it so that the cruise will work. Much easier to just do the cruise now while you are in there than go back and try to figure out what all the wiring is after it has been altered

@@hestermannmotorwerks thank you so much for the info. I would like to purchase a wiring diagram if you can do it for my 2003 24v vr6 . I watch your wiring video and you mention the pin in ecu on gas cars it’s 39, But I have already black and white wire in pin. So kind stuck lol cheer.

I'm about to try this myself but am intimidated by the wiring and switches. Am I able to just jump / bridge the clutch pedal switch wiring somewhere to just get it running for now? Will the car run and drive without the VCDS coding? Thanks for the videos by the way.

What engine do you have?

VCDS will not recode your ECU. It will need EEPROM reprogramming. As mentioned before, that’s why I send my ECUs to Blake at The Dub Shop in Ocala FL. I have not tried driving a car without the swap complete but have heard that you may get RPM hang up if it is not done correctly.

@@hesty32 Thanks for the response. I'm hoping to finish it in stages so I don't send the ecu away and get stuck on something during the swap. Plan is to hopefully get everything swapped and at least driveable and then send ecu away for tune and code and figure out wiring at the same time.

Damn good tutorial I've got a question on my 2002 Jetta TDI manual swap was already done when I got it only thing wired up was the clutch safety switch so trying to get the reverse lights to work put a new switch in wired it up. I get power to the red and yellow wire with key on in reverse that's plugged into that black with a blue tracer but for whatever reason, power is not going through to the reverse lights. Bulbs are grounded good but acting like an open circuit

Sounds like a break in the wire somewhere. I’d use and ohm meter/multi meter and start checking the black/blue wire back to the reverse lights. There is a spot under the rear door sill that you can kind of get to the wire bundle. There are other circuits that have the same color code so be careful
