VW Oil Pressure Warning Light

Follow along as I try to diagnose a mystery oil pressure warning light issue on my 1974 VW Thing.

Me too! I've been driving it all summer with no additional issues, so it must have been the pressure switch.

How long did you wait with the key back on after turning off for the light to come back on? If it comes on right away, that’s supposed to be assigned of worn out bearings clearances too high. If it takes a long time for the light to come back on after you turn the engine off that’s a good thing. some of those pressure switches are set at five psi seven psi and 10 psi.

Yes, I tried it every which way before I replaced it (again!). Switch the key on right away, or turn it off and wait 5 seconds before turning it to ACC. Nothing worked...crazy to get two bad switches in a row. I've been driving it for 2 months with the new pressure switch from JBugs with not issues. Hooray!
