VW Passat 2014 Heater Core Replacement

My first time trying to replace a part this big. Heater core is leaking and I’m going to replace it. I cried, threw my back out but I refused to give up. Two arts later and it’s working.

Does the ac still work because that actuator arm is right next to the heat core and it needs move with out any obstructions to close vent so it can let the cool air in and close it from the hot air

How hard was it really though? Did you have to use heater hose/twist hose clamps?

It wasn’t hard to do it was hard for me because I didn’t have the right tools to loosen the bolt to the top hose on the fire wall. If I was able to figure that part out then it would have been easy peasy. If you can find that then your good to go. It’s in between the two hoses under the hood / firewall….but I could figure it out. So I was trying to stretch the top hose but it didn’t connect like it should.

Wait so how did you loosen the screws in the firewall?

I didn’t. I pulled and stretched the hose. It was very hard and complicated but I was determined. If you can figure that part out. You got it. The car is still rolling and no leaks
