It's madness for VW to renege on its agreements with its employees. Despite competition from China, VW still generates enormous amounts of cash. Why punish its employees? To increase profits even more? The quality of Audi, VW, Porsche is down to the commitment of its workforce. If VW start to treat them as disposable commodities, this commitment will go away. The value of its brands might then collapse.
