VW Squareback Build - Busted Thread Fix And Accidental Fire!!

1967 VW Squareback busted threads get fixed and replaced. I also make weld nuts and accidentally set some stuff on fire.

Hey just wanted to say thanks for posting these videos, it's great to see some Type 3 content on youtube. I have a squareback myself, but not quite as nice as yours will be. For the small cuts like you are doing for the captive nuts, I have had a lot of luck with a dremel tool and small cut-off wheel. Make sure you use the discs specifically for metal with the little 'EZ lock' collet, anything else disappears as if it was made of sand. They are a little pricey but well worth the clean cut you'll get.

Thanks for the kind words and for the tip! I'll have to try that. I always worried about burning out my dremel doing this type of work, but I should give it a try. The chisel I used is kind of brutal and would not be great on a visible area.

@@DreamWrench I haven't had any bad luck running it at about 25000 and just not letting the cut slow it down too much, mine has held up for a good few years now. Thanks again, and looking forward to the next instalment. The roof swap??

@@reallywhale Good to know. I will try that! The roof does need to be cleaned up a little bit, so the next video will be something else. My plan is to get the roof swapped asap though!
